Arc Raiders

Same. Played for a couple of hours this afternoon and it was one of the most "chill" days ever. Got shot at once on my last run by some free loadout grunt but he was stomped down quickly by several of us.

Just watched some guy, somehow end up with 3 snitches on him, I watched from my place of snug safety as he fended off one after the other of the summoned drones and as he just about managed to kill the last one, I thought about sniping him in the head at the end, but, in the end, I decided that no, this valiant warrior shall keep his spoils today

(Which probably means he bumped into a rocketteer 2 mins later and got blown away)

Picked this up today, looks like my kleptomania ways might need some adjusting ha!

First round solo had someone charge me and after a few heal and shoot rounds we both ran off. Later with a friend in duo our first round had the “don’t shoot” and open fire group on us but was then clear sailing for a number of rounds to get some upgrades under way.

This game could be a problem for me!

My mate picked this up so we did a bit of duo tonight. It sure is a different beast of a game playing against other squads. None of this good will or nicety, straight up battle every time, no questions just action.
We were on a raid in the testing annex on the dam map and a duo must have heard us looting and came to investigate which was a silly mistake! I just unlocked the Anvil blueprint so I kitted the pair of us out with L2 anvils. They saw my mate run round the corner. It was a stand off and it sounded like they were trying to find a way to flank us but kept coming back to the same door. I dont think they knew I was there. Finally they got the courage to push, but I was waiting in ambush. Killed one and severely injured the other, I pushed them with my mate following me up, I got another hit or two on the remaining guy whilst he was trying to revive his buddy, but he managed to down me. My mate finished him off. It was tense but so much fun!!!

We also did a round on Blue Gate on a free loadout, but I think we need a bit more experience and to go properly tooled up next time. we had to play it far too cautiously and ended up being not all that profitable. So many drones/bots!!!

Last round of the night was a quest run with very little looting involved and extracted with another duo.
Unfortunately a Rocketeer came along and started on us at the extract and I go downed but luckily had already called the lift which I was right next to.
Crawled in with my buddy still outside and one of the other duo unloaded their pistol into me, so I warned my buddy that this other duo was hostile just as I got knocked out.
My buddy also got downed but extracted as the other duo didn’t have time to take him out before the timer ran out. These people really are lower than campers as they gain nothing from killing me or downing my buddy as they can’t loot our gear as there’s no time. Probably the kind of person that would drown kittens in a bag just for then ”lols”. #salty

The amount of different things you can loot is a bit overwhelming, and other than stuff I'm tracking, I'm not really find looting that satisfying as I don't know what half of it is for.

I'm struggling to upgrade any of my workshop beyond level 1 (I've only done gunsmith and need 1 toaster for refiner).

I am still enjoying it though.

Any loot you need for a station upgrade or for scrappy you can track by going back to see it's requirements and clicking the track button, now any items you're looting that you need for tracked recipes will have a little icon on them which helps you sort your loot as you go. There's a lot of loot and at first it's overwhelming, but after 1 intense week of playing, you'll know what it all does eventually.

For example you might find reloading in gunfights annoying, which is helped by crafting extended mags, and for those you primarily need springs. Once you know a lot of the recipes off by heart you can kinda mentally sort your loot by priority of what you need, if you're out of springs and want to craft more mags then they're pretty valuable. This is the crux of the game, the loot is only as valuable as what it lets you craft, if you're doing next to no PvP then looting will feel pretty shallow because it's a means to an end, it's not the end itself. The end is PvP.

Search for loot cheat sheets, there's good ones which will tell you what is safe to recycle and what to keep for future quests and projects.

Normally I am murdered on sight, but last night playing duos - spotted two guys l, "Don't shoot, Hi Raider" so we thought they where friendly.

The second we turned around the opened up on us, I wouldn't be bothered but I'd found a rubber ducky:(

Trust no1! lol

Trust no1! lol
This! I will generally leave other players alone, but if you're alone and your backs to me looting......well accidents happen. And I will often listen out for sounds of shooting and investigate, if there's a chance of getting away with cheap loot I may take it. Apparently I've only downed 13 players since I started playing thought it was more.

There's very subtle tells as to who is not friendly and will backstab. Groups who are abusing player trust to backstab tend to engage over comms to lul people into a false sense of security, but they concentrate very hard on getting and maintaining a good angle to take you out. This is most obvious in groups, where their group will tend to circle you and get some members behind you or on your flank. They struggle to do both things well, so their response over comms tends to be low effort, they'll be like "yea yea chill, friendly bro" even though you could have shot each other by then. If you ask a direct question like where are you going or what are you doing, they wont have an answer they're distracted coordinating to position and attack you. Throw out a "you boys questing?" and if you get back something like "bro, chill friendly", they're not paying attention to what you've just said.

Less than 10% of the player base in my interactions have pulled off backstabs that were unexpected. Me and @xaldub and a third, met another trio the other day, and it was obvious just from their positioning alone they weren't friendly. So when one of them fired first we were prepared and I lit them up full auto with my Torrente and we won the exchange. They even whined that we fired first when they were DBNO, which is just objectively wrong, likely wanted to call truce and have us res them and then backstab us again. Needless to say we put them out of their misery.

Man, the level 4 Torrente with all mods attached allows you to be all kinds of unhinged in a firefight.

I think some of those stats arent tracking properly because it says I have 0 revives, which is clearly not right

Didn't realise the new map was coming out quite so quickly. Good stuff. And 2 new ARC to come up against too.
In somewhat expected fashion / ala Helldivers 2, the community has already almost hit the target of contributing materials to unlock the new map with the community event - so it seems like Embark are going to up the requirements slightly so people have a chance to contribute after work / this evening so they can earn the rewards too!
