yeh its good fun but prepare to be frustrated by the odd guy that shoots you in the back for giggles, i only started to play it recently, dont use a red or blue skin theres some stupid social media thing going on where they instant shoot each other im using black it blends in the shadows more:)

Tonight I was on a solo and approached extraction circa 11 minutes left. Nearby a guy does the "hello" and talks for a bit, appears friendly. I say hey back and do the dont shoot emote thing. We both get by the door area and about 30 seconds pass as the elevator is inbound, he unloads his gun as I was scoping other angles..
 
Ran half way across the map to save a raider i saw go down, just as I get there they give up and die.
Thankfully not a wasted journey as they had some good loot.
Felt a bit dirty looting a corpse though :cry:

Thats fair game! Its even better if you turn up to a gunfight and dispatch the survivor! 2 for 1!
 
Had two quite fun games, first one I was looking to kill a Surveyor for quests, but ended up helping someone else take out a Bastion. Looted about 5 cores or whatever it drops! Headed to the metro to extract, took out about 5 of those goddam burner things, and also found a fallen comrade with some crappy loot, so I took that and got out.

Then decided I'd try and take on a Leaper on the next loadout... walked halfway across the map, and some other punks are trying to kill it. They failed. So I threw some grenades at it and got it to chase me. 3 stickies wasnt enough to take it out, so I had to tactically unload my Anvil into it to finish it off. Only one rare item dropped that time, which was disappointing. Tried to get over to the bodies of the fallen comrades, but so many Arc and so little cover. Extracted with someone else who thankfully didn't shoot me in the face.

Pretty sure that just happened to me. Turned up, see a guy on his knees searching a fallen raider.

So I had to drill them through the head, steal their loot and then go to the first dead guy and take what the raider I shot didn't get time to have from them.

Was on a free loadout too, got some cracking loot :D

Solo? Mileage may vary! Not as good as it was at release. It has gotten very sweaty. I only have to refer you to my posts further up this page to see how I feel about it.

I've played the last 15 or so hours solo, PvP isn't that bad in the game, at least just running a minimal loadout to do the missions and dailies. PvP just adds some spice. The biggest problem for me is over confidence after you've extracted 4-5 times in a row

And if they start emoting, or chatting away all friendly and then follow you, kill them immediately.

I haven't had a single encounter where another raider led with the friendly and then followed me, that didn't end with them shooting me the moment I started looting or breaching something.
Which certainly counts as turning your back on them, so it's a good rule.

Absolute scum.

Yep, this. They're pretty stupid tho as once you clock them you can very easily engage on your own terms and there's **** all they can do about it.

I've had it a few times and every single one was a free loadout too.

Speaking of which, had some good runs as a squad last night, but also lost to another squad on one of them. I'm now poor AF so need to do some solo hoarding runs for more pennies :D
 
Update. I was not friendly since, today will be much the same. Those guys have really spoiled it for the genuine friendly raiders, but its more or less KoS policy now! :)
 
Ah yes , "saw him kill another raider". It's what I kept telling myself until I realised what I had become.

It's been incredibly satisfying seeing people slowly turn. Welcome brothers ! Welcome!

I am particularly proud of our brother @steve45
I have seen him curb stomping raiders to teach them a lesson for not PVEing enough.

Now about that bounty on Tombstone's head....

I only deliberately killed another raider in my first couple of games, as the vibe was then that all raiders are hostile, and of course the little objectives encouraged PVP. I stopped when it was clear that not all raiders are hostile, and I've not attacked anyone since without being attacked first.

Most of the time they get the drop on me (as they have the first shot advantage), but it's so sweet when I can turn the tables on them and knock them out while telling them over prox chat what I think of them (politely!).
