I need 2 more for the last bit of the project, and an Ion Sputter for a quest. I've done the rotary encoder, that was fairly easy but those other two items elude me!

Rusted shut medical boxes I found the hospital in Buried City to be the best, they pop up in Medical from time to time in Stella Montis. Prefer the vibe in BC though. Hey Raider!
 
3 Iron sputters for the expedition?? Its bad enough trying to find 1 let alone 3!

so hard to get a good spawn and a game that has not been running for ten mins

That's weird, I have hit stage 5 of the expedition which is just donating stuff from your stash as always, will be my 3rd expedition and I didn't have to collect any ion sputters, rarest thing I had to find was 3 of them snow globes....

This is my Second Expedition, I didn't own the game at the time of the first one.

expedition 2 definitely looks like the hardest of the 3!

so I am not v good at killing shredders . maybe because I am on steamdeck I dunno however am just not agile enough however I have found the one which spawns at or around metro exit you can kill easily enough by drawing it close the the metal containers near the train station , you climb up on top and killing there. Also similar story at the one around the loading dock. I usually take some flack but with medium shields I am ok so long as a wasp/ hornet don't sneak up on me.

main challenge is not getting another player jump in at the last minute. but I have gotten 4 of them in a handful of playthroughs this evening in 40 mins. also it's no issue if you get in a late spawn. unlike the loot the arc have no problems respawning in

Oh, I assumed the expeditions were the same for everyone regardless of how many you have done and yeah ion sputters were a pita.
Shredders are best farmed in the archives, clear the ticks and fireballs out and take a level 2 shotgun, loads of cover down there and 2 spawn every 10 minutes or so, I go there regular to farm mechanical components.
 
Also, did I forget to mention that I HATE Stella Montis!

I can never find my way around it properly and its like a maze! I only ever go to this map for quests\Expeditions

I can understand why PVP is worse on this map as trying to get a good spawn and the epics are a nightmare so easier to camp extractions or kill others as you see them loot the area.

Just keep playing it. You'll learn it eventually.
 
Getting the good stuff in Stella is all about being lucky with your spawn.

I just spawned right in the assembly area, came out absolutely juiced, I even gave away a Seeker Grenade BP at the extract:

Ha after my lost post complaining about having to find mushrooms my next game in Spaceport I spawned with in throwing distance of the tree. Grabbed them and ran up the steps, within 20 secs 2 flares went up behind me at the tree right after each other. People clearly ran there and quit out.

Been too greedy on loot runs and trying to do trials at same time since reset. Have died twice while absolutely stacked because i hung around too long and got over run by arc. Basic guns are too crap when not upgraded for multiple things :/
Now I have no good augments/guns left.

imo the ferro is one of the most powerful guns in the game for big arc and that is cheap as chips to get to level 3.
you can use any old scrappy gun for the smaller arc - tho admittedly the hornet instill find a pain if on my steamdeck

Anvil only 15k. I always carry a Wolfpack or seekers just incase I get overwhelmed.
