Are cheap washing machines ok?

Previous washer> Beko, lasted 4 years until i replaced it with a black one. It still worked perfectly and it was used daily.
New washer is a Beko, purchased because it is black and more efficient. I fully expect the same life form it if not more.

It depends OP are you living in a place you will stop for years and years if so invest in something quality. If however you are going to be moving from place to place for the foreseeable future and really putting down no roots then it would just make sense to buy cheap. We were moving around a lot so we got a cheap and cheerful Beko. It lasted 5 years, was used daily, got everything clean and did not start any house fires! Now I've got a permanent place that I will stop at it is the time to invest in a quality one.

So to answer your OP yes they are 'OK' but they certainly aren't 'good'.

We bought an indesit direct drive machine maybe a year ago now, can't remember the price but it was somewhere around your budget.

Its decent enough, Looks fine as the silver finish matches our fridge etc, quick and more importantly ( for me) quiet. No idea how long it will last but tbh if I get 4 or 5 years from it I would be happy enough.

For 350 you should be able to get a decent enough washing machine. If you want something that will last forever then its probably worthwhile spending more, likewise though if its going to be out of sight, only really intended for a couole of years till you move and you dont mind plain white you could probably go cheaper as simply looking for silver or black adds funny money to the machine cost

Thanks for the replies.
The current one doesn't hold much I'm afraid so perhaps a newer one would be one white load and one coloured load per week.
I do plan on living here for a long time but spanking £500+ right now is going to hurt my finances quite a lot! I've seen families with children who are using their washing machines constantly but for all I know they spent near a grand on theirs.

I bought a second hand washing machine from an ad in a local tesco 4-5 years ago, it cost £30 and still cleans to this day

my cheapy hotpoint has been going for almost 2 years now but only get used maybe twice in the weekend.

Ive gone and done it now, expect pending doom.

We have a Bosch and its been decent, i have replaced the brushes recently but all machines need that in their life if they live long enough - however in the same time i have had a Zannusi and the Bosch my parenty Miele has soldiered on, it must be 15 years old now and its as quiet as the day it was made and never missed a beat! It cost them 800 back then and ive pretty much paid that much in less time!

My Bosch prolly needs replacing as its got a bra wire stuck in the drum, its rusted and started staining clothes randomly :(

Pro tip - get bags/nets to wash bras in!

I got a cheap beko one for £200 from the coop website delivered next day for free been working fine since january using it prob 2 times a week.

false economy to get an expensive one unless you have a family imo as the cheap ones should last years anyway with little use just avoid hotpoint etc as they have crap build quality
