Are EV’s really the way to go?

yes that's interesting so lewisham is labour run and that would seem prejudicial against poorer residents who may have older higher band cars.
Half of households in Lewisham don’t have a car. If you’re poor in Lewisham you aren’t actually being affected by these charges. Middle class at worst if you own a car but it’s older.

Also lol if you think only poor people vote Labour in London.

I've just placed an order for an e2008 and noticed on the Pug website quite an interesting proposition:

MOBILITY PASS

When considering an electric car, we know that customers can be concerned about those occasional longer journeys, such as holidays. With Mobility Pass, we’ve got you covered – with an allowance for alternative vehicle rental built in to your electric car finance agreement

Quite a cool concept - you get a points allocation to use against a rental+top-up as required.

Well if they did the opposite it just asks as a disincentive for people getting EVs... can't win.
yes - my logic is flawed - socialist Sadiq amongs his gifts to humanity, already gave us the ULEZ in london and the emission related parking fees are one in the same. - just need to clone a bev's plates

This is a really good idea as, even though it's not really necessary, it will give people the comfort of knowing it's an option.

I expect what will happen is that people will use their new e2008 for short trips, then longer ones, then even longer ones and realise that they don't need to borrow an ICE car for their long trips.

Ultimately it then doesn't cost Pug much if anything, and it removes another of the "perceived" barriers to EV adoption.
