Are OCUK Forums in decline?

No offence, but you haven't been here as long as a lot of people. I've noticed a decline not because of Mods, but because regulars moved on.

I think it was because people were using the Pancake meme, and he called them up on it and the "lol" worthy joke they changed his name to pancake.

It's a **** meme that members here cannot let go of.


Oh and this thread proves one thing, that Freefaller is the best Mod on the forums
 
I don't think the forums are in decline. While the quality has probably remained the same, it's the quantity of utter utter tripe that probably drowns it out. Far too many

- Spec me a Toilet Role because I can't wipe my own ass

- Scammed on eBay. So I bought a 2010 Plate Ferrari for £200.00. Surprisingly my money has cleared but the post man has not turned up with the car yet, have I been scammed or posts of this nature.

- I have split up with my 1st Ever GF/BF how will I survive the School Holidays.

- Is this * Insert New Toy Here * any good ?? Always turns into worst look at me ever thread.

- Muslims ate my Hamster and my civil liberties are being eroded by the second Topics - Que three year old tenuous news story from the Daily Mail to show Muslims are taking over the world.

Some people really need to learn about that other Search engine, Google I think it's called.

Not really, as he made the point from his frame of reference....basically that the forums have declined since he has been a member...The state of the forum prior to that is immaterial to the OP and the comment I made was from the frame of reference in the OP and not over the lifetime of the Forum.

I have not noticed any sustained decline in the forums since I have been a member, which related directly to the OP and his time-frame....your point is pretty irrelevant to that and doesn't apply to either of us as you are talking about an entirely different frame of reference, that is not to say that you point is not a valid one, only that it doesn't specifically apply to us.

Quality over Quantity. Thankfully Mods seem to be closing a lot more threads that are just utter tripe these days, Quality threads stay on first page, and crap ones leave it for good or get closed.

I should point out, in keeping with threads initial point, That there are good threads that leave the first page. But they leave due to people sayin all they have had to, and those threads often make it back to the first page when something new comes to the surface.

I've been on the forum years, and I dont think its declined much. Although yes, some of the good posters have left. Which is a shame, especially from consoles where i frequent. But thats not really whats been asked in the OP

I sucked at getting my signature right.... :( To the point i got suspended for it!

It was 3 separate signatures I believe, with warnings before getting suspended.
