Are OCUK Forums in decline?

But that was funny.

It depended on the thread, sometimes it was posted up in threads with potential. By someone who was just being a moron.

Fair enough if someone decided to tell us he put salt in his coffee, Thanks for the info!

But when someone takes the time to write a first post with a bit more depth, with regards to something he's done. Thanks for the info was just like I said, being an ass for the sake of it.

We are not all the same, or have the same ideals or beliefs. Even morals i guess. So, we cant please everyone all of the time. Cant understand why some on this forum go out of their way to call people up in names for their beliefs. Ridiculing them.

I'm not religious in the slightest, but I never feel the need to jump into threads and ridicule others. It's strange to see it to be honest.

1 religious person wishing a happy religious holiday to any others!!

And all of a sudden it's gate crashed by none believers....WHY? Are they incapable of allowing others celebrate something they do believe in? Do they have to mess up anything thats religion based? really? To be honest, it says more about the gatecrashing poster, than it does the religious poster.

I've been around a fair few years, more lurking than posting - and not much has changed as far as I can see.

This place can be as entertainingly brilliant as it can be frustratingly irritating.

I still like it :)

Really? Apparently you only joined this month...

Everyone's probably just got older and grown up a bit, no idea what the younger generation are up to now, twitter?

These forums are equally as good / bad as they've ever been, from what I've noticed. As time goes by, the old rose-tinted 'back in my day' effect tends to come into play. As though there were never any trolls and the discussion was always so very high brow!

No, they don't. Things have genuinely got more dull here, hence why I left for several months.

because in the old days if you disagreed with someone you both argued like stubborn mules till one of you had to go to work.

Now whenever people disagree they just call each other troll and stop posting.

I think one of the biggest impacts to this forums, has been that some of our most valued and frequent posters have been looked upon as Admin/Mod material. Being good at one thing does not necessarily mean you will be good at the other, and ultimately the contribution they give to forum discussion is severely reduced as they keep up with their responsibilities as a Mod.

Its a shame how many great posters we have seen turn to Mods and then eventually they give up, but never return to the form we saw from them in the first place. :-(

Because moderating has a tendency to suck the life out of a man. Been there, done that and **** doing it again. Unless I was paid for it.
