Are OCUK Forums in decline?

I can only think of one person who fits this bill and even then he still does a very good job of offering a calm, well-reasoned response to some of the more dramatic posts.

Their are many others but as examples Jodie and Scuzi

tbh it is getting worse no drama just truth. will end up like ****** and ******** forums just selling crap and not caring about anything else

seen it start to change since turn over . admins people in charge will say no difference but there definitely is and its not a good change .

OK, this is a weird one.

A while back I noticed that if I posted (or anyone for that matter) a thread in GD, within a few hours it would be knocked onto page 2-3 with or without replies. Now, back to the current time frame, I can post a thread and it will stay on page 1 nearly all day. This is showing me signs of decline.

Now, it could just be me, but have any of you guys noticed this or not?

quality over quantity - unless members of ocuk posted crap back when you created this thread.

because in the old days if you disagreed with someone you both argued like stubborn mules till one of you had to go to work.

Now whenever people disagree they just call each other troll and stop posting.

So it's actually a time saving device? When you put it like that maybe it's not so bad... although actually it is, it's all too often simply a means of stifling debate and an easy cop-out when the poster disagrees with someone else.

You mean 'no, it doesn't'

If Lysander is referring to the rose-tinted spectacles as an object coming into play then "No, they don't." would seem a reasonable response. If you were referring to an effect then "No, it doesn't" is the correct option but depending on how the sentence is read either could work.

No. I did not refer to rose-tinted spectacles, I only mentioned the rose-tinted effect. The subject of the sentence is 'effect', therefore you are wrong and he is wrong.
