Are scars cool?

Ive got a huge (foot long maybe) one going down my back from when I had an op on my back.

Also got one on my right calf from where I tore out a piece of skin when i was riding my bike. Quite strange as there is no hair on it and its like a blad patch but its like nearly see through skin sort of. Ill try and get a picture of it. Feels really smooth aswell.

It's nothing big, but i've got one under my eye which is about 1inch and got it when i was young when my brother smacked me in the face with his metal gun.

I lost all confidence when I had tubes coming out of me from places tubes should go lol. If it was a slightly cool scar I don't think I would care. It's the fact that its joined by 2 extra nipples and loads of stretch marks on my back. I'm 19 I should have stretch marks  So all I think now is people must think I am very very ill.

BrightonBelle, it was from a op I had 2 years ago. I was born with Emphisemia and 2 years ago my lung kept collapsing. Think it collapsed 4 times in 6 weeks. So they decided to cut the dead part of my lung. Fun.

What is cool though is I now have control over a muscle where my scar is. Turn you head upside down and look at the picture. I can now make the :\ face a smiley face :)

It looks like a cool scare

I like it :D

Dont be afraid of showing it off, its now apart of you so you should accept it.

And Stretch marks? Im 18 and only weight 70 kilo and my thighs are covered in them from when i used to sprint, Dont give them a second thought though, some are infact scares from soccer but they all blend in and work well together

I dont want a cool scare  lol

I can handle stretch marks. I too have about 8 on each thigh. Just my big scar isn't natural. Plus it's caused this:

These are all old images btw. I have grown in 2 years so they have stretched more. Maybe if I was younger and didn't remember what happened I would probably be ok with it. But I really didn't enjoy a month in hospital. I remember reading up on how someone from these forums has had over 10 chest drains put in. It's probably me being a pussy but I passed out when I had my first one put in. Plain was just... oww. Then when I was told I would have to have my 4th drain put in I felt like bolting it. When I had the op everything was fine for the first day. Till the drugs wear off, you start to feel the pain and being bed ridden... well for age 17 I didn't really want to go for a crap in a room with 5 old men. Not something one fantasises about.

That's what this scar is about really I think. When people ask now I just tend to make little deal and say "oh just some operation I had a while" and then change the conversation. Because the look you get when you explain it to people... it's like I had some disgusting disease. That's why I am getting a tattoo over it. Not just because of what I think people think when they see it, but to try and cover up a bad memory.

Wow that was pretty deep. Damn you all for making me rant like that. For fun I will try and get a picture of the scar smiling but I dont have a decent camera at home at the mo.

EDIT: here I am bitching about a scar when their are others on these forums with bigger problems.
