Are scars cool?

Here is my scar:

It is about 8 inches long... really didn't think it was that long :)

This belongs in the 'suggestive pictures of hot-ass girls' thread

Got a nice 2" scar on my stomach from hernia surgery, looks just like someone stabbed me with a knife, next door neighbour has convinced has little lad that i was in the army and got it in the war! haha.

Couple of nice scars on my knuckles from fighting when younger and getting someones front teeth embedded in my fingers, and a nice hole in my leg where i pulled a wheelie on a fold away bike when i was 9, needless to say, it folded way and the front wheel came off, landed the wheelie and the pedal cylinder (you know when you break your pedal and all you have left is the cylinder of metal) embeded itself in my leg.

I have pretty much the same as BrightonBelle only I'm as pale as a goth and mines all messed up.

I don't think its kool. I am self conscious of it. I haven't taken my t-shirt off in public for 2 years. I think about the pain that I went through everyday. Emo heh...

But its OK. I'm saving up to get a massive tattoo on it. Then I don't have to see it everyday.

Has someone convinced you that 5" is "8 inches. Fact."?

Lol! No! I clearly know the difference ;) just that I can't really see the whole thing because its on my back and just assume it is smaller than it is I guess :)

Was yours the result of the same thing as me Tob3z?

A curious idea. I have scars on my arms that are pretty recognisable as self-harm marks. However, this doesn't stop me wearing short sleeves or even giving a **** when people ask what they are... simply because I have realised that I have caused myself more pain than anyone else has ever caused me, therefore I will not allow it to continue.

I don't care if people see it and becasue of that, I would say that you shouldn't be self-concious. If you are confident about yourself, others around you will pick up on that and accept it.

I lost all confidence when I had tubes coming out of me from places tubes should go lol. If it was a slightly cool scar I don't think I would care. It's the fact that its joined by 2 extra nipples and loads of stretch marks on my back. I'm 19 I should have stretch marks  So all I think now is people must think I am very very ill.

BrightonBelle, it was from a op I had 2 years ago. I was born with Emphisemia and 2 years ago my lung kept collapsing. Think it collapsed 4 times in 6 weeks. So they decided to cut the dead part of my lung. Fun.

What is cool though is I now have control over a muscle where my scar is. Turn you head upside down and look at the picture. I can now make the :\ face a smiley face :)

I've got a scar on the top/back of my head where I was knocked to the pavement when playing 'bulldog' when I was about 10, and hit my head on the concrete full on needing a fair few stitches.
And a scar on my elbow & knee.

When people ask, I tell them Chuck Norris roundhouse kicked me through a window.

Of course they are! I have many, including torn eyelid (bike accident), across the abdomen (hospital operation), huge scar down my leg (over 40 stitches due to a glass door), stitches in my head, arm, split sternum, snapped collar bone which now sticks right out (motorcycles), broken needle in my shin, glass cut right over the knobbly bone in my wrist which split open showing the whole thing.

But as my sig says ;)
