Are sn25p's THAT much hassle?

Nah - mine was pre-ordered too, they were out a good while before the problems with SATA cables were accepted by shuttle. The early UK ones definitely had sus cables so seems burbleflop had a lucky set :)
 
I have an OcUK purchased SN25P, bios updated it on the day i got it and i've had no issues with getting it running or stability

but however i did have the dodgy sata cables, hardly a massive problem though. didnt realise at first as it was like the drive was failing then a friend mentioned the cable issue and once id swapped it with a spare it ran fine

on the plus side, i have 3 x 400GB drives in my system. when i had an SN85G4 it got extremely hot and if you touched the drives you could scold yourself, in the SN25 it can have been running for a couple of days and the drives are still only warm to the touch, imo definately worth the switch
