I think people get stuck in their old ways. I was on a course of 20+ people on teams and because I was busy all week I did it on my day off on my personal pc. I was the only one that couldn't be put into a breakout room because my teams wasn't up to date. Yet you can guarantee all my hardware drivers are all up to date or on latest beta files!

My daughter goes on about Instagram and Tiktok like it is some foreign language and I am only 34 yet comes up for advise when it is gaming or software. I was also the same with discord. When Wow classic released I met up with all my old guild mates. When I went looking for ventrillo they all just went silent!
 
It's not you guys, Discord is a ******* mess and unnecessarily convoluted to do the most basic things. The UI is counter-intuitive and god knows how it got so popular

Reddit is child play compared to Discord

Discord drives me nuts with all the GIFs and stuff, unnecessary noise and also trying to post code snippets and stuff is a nightmare due to the way it escapes stuff :/

Still prefer IRC tbh - and I'm still a member of some very tight-knit IRC communities.

Most games get their own subreddits these days, plus Steam forums, so tend to be better resources.

Heh I spend way to much time on there. I was the same as you until I had to join up for something or other. Now I think its great.

(Used to be in IRC way back when havn't been near it in a very long time)

can't stand reddit myself especially the default look/layout which most groups are

you can mute any/all servers if you wish. Code is ```...
