Hey guys im looking for some help, I want to invest in a mount for my monitor - it's a dell ultrasharp U2410.

What I am looking for is not a wall mount, rather a mount that clings to the desk (like a vice grip) and has an adjustable neck.

Does anyone know where i can find something like that? im useless when it comes to mounting stuff :o

You'll be looking for Vesa wall mounts. As long as it's Vesa compatible (and supports 6.5Kg / 24" screens), it'll fit the U2410.

Edit: misread, thought you were looking for wall mounts. Still, yes, you can get mounts that will clamp onto a desk, and they'll still be Vesa mounts.

A google for "Monitor Arm" should give a start and you'll come across both types of fitment, wall and desk clamp :)

I've got one that clamps to the desk; because of the weight of the arm and monitor I wouldn't have been able to mount it on my previous cheapo desk where the table top was only about 8mm thick, for fear of taking a chunk out of it.

Depending on the weight of the 24" monitor the Neo-Flex might not be suitable. The Ergotron LX Desk Mount LCD Arm supports 24" monitors but is a lot more expensive.

got a 22'' on my neoflex, I would imagine too that 24'' would be ok
Search for its weight limit, something like 7-8kg so if your monitor is below that it should be ok

from the General forum:

I'm not Simmy but I can tell you it's an Allcam MDM05 or MDM06. The 05 is a dual monitor stand, the 06 is a triple monitor stand. I have the MDM06 but use it with two screens - means I have a spare centre bracket if I ever get a third screen.

An arm with a desk clamp that supports vesa and 24" screen for £40.....not bad
