Are there enough reason to get a PS3 if you own a 360?

Personally (being a 360 owner), if a price drop is announced and a GOOD price drop (I don't believe the console is worth as much as it is... Then I will be picking one up. I'm a bit of a geek when it comes to wanting to play the biggest games which are available and the number of PS3 exclusives means I really have to get one if I am to keep up with the bigger games.

So yes, I do believe there is a big enough of a reason. BUT, I do think you have to have both the PS3 and the Xbox, I don't believe chopping in the xbox just to get a PS3 is the best move. If you can afford both, then you should!

yes i agree with Hilly on the swapping one for another- if you can save your money and get both then go that route. They both have good points and bad points and complement each other quite well from a gaming stand point.
I thought of exchanging my 360 for the ps3 but decided otherwise.

My PS3 gets nowhere near as much use as my 360, BUT, MGS is worth the price of admission alone, LittleBigPlanet is awesome, and I'm really enjoying Infamous, after yesterday I'm feeling I'll get a lot more use from my PS3 over the next year.

Do it.

It depends on your gaming taste, time available to play and money, if you have enough money and enough time to play on both the PS3 and the 360 then sure its worth it. If you have limited time and money you probably wont get much use of one console or the other, most likely the one you play multiplatform games on will get used far more (obviously). If there are a few PS3 exclusives you like the look off and also whats coming up then sure its worth it, if you only are going to use it for say 1 or 2 games then probably not worth the cash. Best bet if your unsure is to play the on a friends or even have a go in a sshop if you can, ideally there will be a price drop this year which may make it an easier choice.

Maybe he meant not enough compelling exclusives, then he'd be right.

The PS3 defiantly has enough exclusives to warrant a purchase. It all comes down to personal taste though. I find the games coming out on the PS3 more compelling than the games coming out on the 360.

Its 2009, I can't believe people are still saying the PS3 doesn't have games.

Both consoles offer a great service and games, each having pros and cons, if you can afford both then get both but you have to look a the games and what appeals to you on each console.

I got mine cheap today and its going to look awesome along side my 360 Elite on my desk.

That was a good enough reason for me :)

I love my PS3 but I currently don't have that many PS3 games for it. I don't know if I would have kept it if it didn't have PS2 backwards compatibility.

Out currently & recommended:
Uncharted
LittleBigPlanet
MGS4
Motorstorm
Ratchet and Clank:Tools of Destruction and Quest for Booty
Thinking of picking up InFamous

As you live in Newquay and it's the start of the summer, I'd say chuck the 360 in a cupboard, don't even think about a PS3 and get yourself outside - in the sea, on a bike, up a cliff...

The summer is not the time for consoles.

It depends, if you're planning on watching a lot of blu-rays and have the equipment to appreciate them then I'd definately say yes. However solely for gaming there aren't enough outstanding exclusives, the only two which I've really appreciated are Uncharted and Infamous. Killzone, Resistance, MGS4, LBP and Ratchet & Clank were all meh although that's only my opinion certainly not a universally accepted one at that.

Why not find out before taking the plunge?

Not sure if anywhere does this in England but over here, a movie/game rental chain called Xtravision allows you to rent out a console.

I say rent one for a couple of days along with Uncharted, MGS4, Killzone 2, inFamous and LBP and make your decision from experience rather than other people's.

Or, I'm sure you can maybe get a mate to loan you theirs for a day or two?

I'd say if you can afford to buy the PS3 do it, it's a blu-ray player to if you haven't got one and could justify some of the cost.

I have each console and the 360 is my console of choice. I tend to buy only the PS3 exclusives and the rest for the 360. The exclusives which are out on the PS3 and coming out would justify it to me anyway, I really enjoyed MGS, Drakes Fortune, Motorstorm, Resistance and a few I haven't played yet such as Infamous & Killzone 2. Also if GT5 ever gets released that would be nice :)

I'm not gonna try and sway you either way but the old and tired argument that the PS3 doesnt have enough decent games is now in the past and has been for some time.

You just need to look at what suits you best in regards to games and what your likely hardware & multimedia requirements are.

Amen to this - I've got both (and the Wii, which gets the least use). As has been said, both have exclusives that you might want to play - if you can afford it, go ahead.
Adding a PS3 to an Xbox 360 setup is a no brainer as far as I'm concerned. apart from the extra games you'll be able to play, you get a full featured BD player. I know at least a couple people who have bought a PS3 simply to add to an HD setup, games aren't their concern primarily.
