are tomatoes an essential part of a fry up?

potato products are essential as is bread based product.

despite me not being a fan of tomatos and saying no, it *is* traditional for fry ups to consist of: eggs bacon, sausage, bread product (toast/fried bread) beans (or spaghetti in sauce, hoops etc)), mushrooms, burger meat, tomato, has browns, and black pudding, don't think I've missed anything out there

yeah but there's a lot of different traditional fry ups. All have sausage, bacon, bread, potato. But i don't think all have tomato or beans hence not essential.

They only come standard with English and Irish but not ulster and Scottish fry ups.

For me all that's essential is Bacon, Eggs and Sausages, everything else is an optional extra (but given the option then they are requested;))

My ideal fry-up is bacon, eggs, sausages, hashbrowns, black pudding, mushrooms, beans & tomatoes. Rounded off with a nice cup of tea and an Orange Juice. Also as a minimum condiment I need Brown Sauce, but I like to have Ketchup and a proper English mustard too.
Not so keen on fried bread tbh, however I will have toast and Jam (as a "pudding")

Tomatoes on the vine, just pop the whole thing in the frying pan for a bit, nomnomnom.

That and frying mushrooms in the bacon fat is winnar.
