are tomatoes an essential part of a fry up?

Toms are the bomb, I cant get enough of them. Especially my special toms:

Empty a tin of Napolunas "preferably" in a small pan, heat the pan on the hob. Add, one table spoon of sugar into the pan along with black corn pepper, Tabasco, and lea perrins worcester sauce. Mix all together whilst it heats ups. Wait untill boiling point and lower to simmer. Serve with thick toast and smoked bacon! Yummy.

My order of priority goes something like:

Bacon
Eggs
Mushrooms = Sausages = Black Pudding = Beans = Bread Product (generally toast as I'm not keen on FB)
Tomatoes = Hash Browns = Potatoes generally

Any fry up without bacon and eggs is an instant fail as far as I'm concerned.

Tomato? Pffff.

Extra sausage is where it's at.

The very best fry-up I've ever had was when camping. BBQ bacon is the best tasting thing ever. Bread fried in bacon fat/butter is also something rather special to behold.

i'm not particulary fussed but then i feel they are more welcome than hash browns

To me a proper breakfast is:

Proper sausages
Bacon
Scrambled eggs
Baked beans
Potato Waffle
Drop scones
Tomato Ketchup
Maple Syrup

I hate cooked tomatoes!

:eek:They are nice if done properly. But not essential. However potato products are essential as is bread based product.

Yeah i agree, it's low down the list

Baked beans
Sauage (min 2)
Bacon (min 3)
Egg
Hashbrowns
Black pudding
French Toast
Tomatoes (maybe)

I forgot to say - mine is all grilled with a glass of orange juice. Usually a cup of tea during preparation and then after it's all gone down then a coffee. I know it's all goo fried but grilled works just as well in my opinion and is healthier. Unfortunately a full breakfast is reserved of special occasions - usually it's cereal..
