Got to say I've listened to some of the remixes of this song and they're not bad at all. Quite boppy, I'm tired of the original too.
It appears that Brandon Flowers, vocalist and keyboard player of the band has stated in an interview that the line “are we human, or are we dancer?” is a reference to a remark once made by the late Hunter S. Thompson, an ascerbic journalist famed for “telling it like it is”, often in offensive terms. He had commented that America is nowadays raising a “generation of dancers”. Thompson committed suicide in 2005.
So basically it refers to whether we are free to make choices in life (human) or whether we are all dancers (we just follow the beat and are afraid of stepping out of line)
It's a proper gay song. Ignore it, hopefully it'll go away.
I can only really agree with Gilly, it's a bad song and knowing that it contains a nod to the late Hunter S. Thompson doesn't change that basic issue with it.
Spaceman > Human
Babylon Zoo fan eh?
I'm sick of the Killers. Loved them at first, but slowly grown out of them as everyone else seems to be falling in love with them, same thing is happening with Kings of Leon.
You can't be elitist about a band when they were absolutely terrible to begin withI'm sick of the Killers. Loved them at first, but slowly grown out of them as everyone else seems to be falling in love with them, same thing is happening with Kings of Leon.
