Looking forward to Olympics?

Not even remotely interested.

I might watch the 100m final, some boxing and the basketball (when the US play) but apart from that I will probably seek to avoid.

Waste of time, money and effort.

I think people are saying no as they are royally ****** off with all the hype & expense, Once the tournament starts & our lads start bringing in some medals I think more people will get involved.

i cant wait for us to excel in posh sports that the majority of nations cant be bothered with or afford. yet fail miserably with the more popular ones.

yet another 'get behind team GB as they win the gold in some obscure stupid boating race for posh gits'

try to make us get interested in sports the majority of us dont give a **** about. more cycling, rowing and boating awards.... <sigh>

Looking forward to some events, not fussed about others.

Provided the Olympics go off without any trouble i think the country stands to benefit from the legacy for decades to come.

yup. look how well greece are doing now

all still being well used too! (sorry couldnt find the none DM link)

the COUNTRY will not benefit. some areas of london might. oddly most of us dont live in london so will just see our Tax money ****ed down the drain like spending £20million on a handball arena \0/ \0/ \0/

Yup. Can't wait. Especially seeing as the BBC are offering 20+ live HD feeds on their website of all the events so one can't complain about the Greco-Roman wrestling never being shown.

Apart from being one of the most popular sports in the world? I love this little englander view; just because we don't do much that means that no-one else must do it either.

Rumour has it that Sky are suspending their BoxOffice channels for the duration in order to carry those BBC HD feeds. Every singe event live and in HD. Win.

Don't mind some events, will no doubt watch some of it but the there's just a niggling little voice in my head saying we are gonna **** something up.....

P.S. would have rather had us host the world cup instead though........that's my conspiracy theory as to why we didn't get it,...cos we had the olympics and we couldn't have both

So Football's ok but the Olympics is a waste. Hmm. Irony bro.

As a sports person cant you appreciate people enjoy different events, and the Olympic Games in the culmination of that.

i think many of us would like to see the home of football actually host a WC in our lifetime. but it seems nt to be as we have to push football in stupid areas like Quatar.

the WC also brings in more money as there is considerably less expense (use existing stadiums) and i think more people actually care about it here. it would also cost us MUCH less.

Although I think it will be an interesting spectacle and could create an added buzz around London this summer, the Olympics will ultimately annoy me I reckon.

I live close to the action, which will mean my commute to and from work will likely turn from a 6 minute tube journey to a 30 minute walk (not necessarily a bad thing, but getting home in the evenings will be a pain). I reckon it will also result in most of my favourite restaurants being fully booked up and most of the decent pubs and bars round this way will be packed.

The upside is that my girlfriend just bought a load of tickets to the women's beach volleyball :D

Yes, I always like the Olympics. It being in London won't have much of an impact on me so as usual I'll start looking forward to it just before it begins.

Whilst I'll watch the 100m final because it's interesting to see who the fastest man in the world is, outside that acolade I don't see the point in athletics. It's just like a big sports day for adults.

I also don't see how anyone can get excited about any sport in the Olympics that already has an established and more respected torunament in it's own field. Things like football and basketball for example.

I've said not fussed because I am interested in watching a few of the events but I'm REALLY not looking forward to all the **** its going to cause me travelling too and from work.
