Are you loyal to a particular mobo brand?

Always ASUS, been perfect for me, the only problem I ever had was with a 650i I knackered myself.

The Maximus Gene V I have now is superb and the software etc is excellent.

Never had a m-atx before but would buy another, not great for x-fire/SLI as the slots are close together, but I would ALWAYS go for a single GPU anyway.

All my PC builds i've done have always been Asus motherboards.. never had a problem with them. And also the computer shop I worked at always ordered Asus boards.. so I prefer Asus.

Used to swear by ABIT but they don't seem to be around anymore, aside from that I built a few machines more recently with either ASUS and Gigabyte and the odd one way back with Aopen who don't seem to be around anymore as well.

Asus or Gigabyte for me. Both provide feature rich boards for reasonable costs and good build quality imo, But i would give other manufacturers a try.

Asrock is a brand i avoid at all costs now. i've only ever had one board from them and it was plagued with problems from day 1.

I've bought 2 Asrock boards so far, the second should be coming soon, i've never had a problem with the first, cheaper one.

So i've decided to buy a more expensive one, they seem to have decent features, some that i found other boards seemed to lack.

for the last few builds for both myself and office based builds they have been asus.

I did try and get a gigabyte but they did not offer the right feature set for me so I landed up with a Gene.

As for the office builds strangly asus was cheaper for the same chipset board and it had better features like USB3

I usually go for Asus but i heard really good things about Gigabyte so got one. Unfortunately I had problems with it from day one now i have an Msi and have to say it's been amazing zero problems so far and a really nice looking board.

Always chosen an ASUS board. Never a problem.

May next choices would be MSI followed by Gigabyte. Probably wouldn't touch anything else unless it was free or the price/features were outstanding.

Never had an issue with DFI, Soltek or Soyo. Had a Soyo board once and I think it was perhaps the best board I've ever used. It wasn't great on features but was absolutely rock solid. ASRock have always been quite reliable for me too and my current board is a Z68-based ASRock.

Used to like Abit and Epox too, both of whom no longer exist.
