Are you materialistic?

I'm very interested in learning things, but tend to accumulate things to learn about along the way and then spend much time on them. So, I don't know if I'm materialistic or not.

I'd sacrifice every penny I've ever earned in exchange for the health and happiness of my family and loved ones.
You can't take it with you, money can't cure it, and you can't put a price on it.

They would need a house and bills paid still as would you, and that requires money.

I am to an extent. I am happy with what I have and only will purchase something If I truly need it, whether for pleasure or for benefit.

I'd sacrifice my own quality of life as much as is possible to support this.
I can't really believe I'm having to type this really, I had no idea people were so mercenary and willing to put materialism before family and friends :(

Yes

I also tend to place a lot of value on females based on their looks and I dislike fat people unless they use humour to detract from the fact they're fat.

I think we rely on it a bit too much, the stuff we have today, but it's so good, I couldnt imagine a world without technology

My girlfriend says I am but I disagree.

I like stuff. But I like it for the experiences it can give me rather than the stuff itself. I don't think that is materialistic really?

Genuinely, no. FWIW in response to some posts above I'm **** poor and have literally next to nothing at present (not even carpets, curtains, more than one set of clothes and my trainers are full of holes). We lost everything we owned at the end of last year and the insurance told us to Foxtrot Oscar. I still couldn't care less about material things, because that's all they are - things.

I care that the children are going without, and would definitely like to provide them with more essentials, faster. But that's not really materialistic that's basic parenting. :p I'm as happy as a pig in the proverbial in my daily life and my lack of money and goods is a non-issue. Provided I have some food and a roof, I'm happy. People and inner peace make happiness, not impermanent goods.

If I had lots of money I would buy lots of things.

I want lots of things but due to lack of money i dont have them

My priorities in life are getting money and buying stuff.

I'd say that sums me up as materialistic

Yeah im materialistic.

I like having stuff, i want more stuff, i not really bothered about culture etc.

I always seem to want more or better than i have.

Yes... My primary hobby seems to be accumulating new hobbies and new things.

I like... stuff. I like buying it, I like it when it comes, I like playing with it. Then I like buying more stuff. Bad habit.
I am much the same. I also seem to waste a lot of money buying a cheap version of something with the intention of buying a better version later. For example, I wasn't sold on the idea of tablet computers, so I got myself a cheap Android one, which turned out to be pretty poor and so has put me off completely.

Does anybody else suffer with a complete inability to get rid of the old crap as you replace it? For some reason I can't bring myself to do it, so I still have old mobile phones, ancient PC components, worn out clothing cluttering up the place.

I should also say that i love money, i dont have or earn enough for my liking but i am working on that.

Money doesnt buy happiness they say, however it goes a long long way to making people much happier.

Dont ever remember speaking to someone who said "oh i have no money and im poor, but im happy about it".....no they said "man i wish i had some money, i never seem to have any money"

Without money you cannot really have the life you want, you need money for a home, food clothing, even to send kids to school, to watch television, socialize etc etc (endless list).

Money buys happiness and comfort in my opinion.
