Ares I-X test launch

Argh, windows media player 9 doesn't want to work on my work PC.

On one screen it'll show it but the colours are seriously wrong (unless the rockets launching from Mars?) and on the other it's just black where the video should be.

That's for the NASA webpage and the 1200kbps stream too :(

What do you mean it won't open. It downloads a file which you open in windows media player or similar.

WMP will not open the file saying it "cannot open file". However my XP pcs open it fine.

That stream seems dead now anyway?

God help us if we ever need NASA to get us off this planet in a hurry.

i know, just light the thing already.

Why the hell are you using WMP9?

Use 10 at the least, or use something like VLC.

Are we still expecting a 1:24 launch?

I've got no audio here in work.

I think they said that they have the go for weather for the next 30 minutes, and were re-evaulating everything else to see if they were still over for 1:24.

Doing the ready call now.

*edit* I think they are confirming all ready to recommence the count at 1:20..

LOL - now the probe cover it stuck on the top of the rocket. Someone is yanking at it with a rope :P

Does it strike anyone else as strange that the probe cover removal consists of a piece of rope with an obvious knot in being tugged from the side!

Edit: Oh no, it's not just any rope - it's parachute cord! utter genius.

This is comedy gold!

AHAHAHAH - a massive wooo hooo from the office when it pinged off.

I love how our most advanced and newest space rocket was almost grounded by a sock with some rope attached.

9:44 launch now?
