Argghh, bent CPU pins on 3900x

Not done it on any Ryzens but a fair few Athlons many moons ago. Never broken any pins though. Whats worse is using too much thermal paste previously then getting the old thermal paste on the pins. Trying to clean said pins is nothing short of a nightmare!

AMD's locking mechanism has always been crap.
Don't know why they can't be like Intel in that regard.

Well its not AMD's mechanism, ZIF has been around a long time and to be fair i've seen quite a few Intels of the S370 (From Tualatin onwards FCPGA2) - 478 era having the same issue, its just with a heatspreader the suction sometimes occurs due to the large surface area and likely it being metal and not a substrate like a die. Also i've salvaged way more bent pins on cpus than on LGA boards.

I've had success with using a razer blade perpendicular to the pins to straighten them out.

OP must have made this up for some sick pin bending fetish fantasy.

What other excuse could he possibly have for the lack of pictures?
