Arkham Asylum

How does this work in offline mode? I thought you had to create a Windows Live ID and then tie the CD key to that in order to save?

Offline mode you just create an offline profile, BUT you won't be able to access any of the free DLC if you run it offline, or migrate your offline profile to an online one.

It's a great game, just try not to overdo the 'Detective vision', It kind of ruins the atompshere. It's a beautiful game and I regret spending 70% of it with just shades of blue and red.

Well, it's installed \o/ I'm going to try 360 pad first and see how I get on with it. I get the feeling I'll prefer M+KB though. Cheers chaps! :p

90% of the game works brilliantly on keyboard and mouse - far better than controller - for once they actually put some thought into that... however... weirdly theres a few sections where they seem to have completely failed to play test it and you will find it far easier to get through those section with a 360 pad :( some of the boss fights are easier on a 360 pad too as you kinda need to be using 2 hands on the keyboard as well as somehow using the mouse in some of them.

i.e. last 10 seconds of crocs lair I couldn't do on K+M because it suddenly pulls the view back and the controls reverse and you fall off the sides (and die) whereas on a controller you still know where the directions go.

EDIT: And no thats not one of the anti-piracy mechanisms in the game :P I have a perfectly legit copy.

This really is a fantastic game. Game of the year for me! I lost my saved game about 60% through when I upgraded from XP to Windows 7, but I was enjoying it so much I decided to play through again from the beginning. There's not many games I could say that for.

I'm just hoping that Arkham City (due out next year) lives up to it's predecessor.

[edit] oh, I played using a 360 controller. The game just seemed to be made for it.

Absolutely awesome so far... but how the hell do I save my game? GFWL is logged in as I see achievments, but I'm terrified of closing the game in case I lose progress... aaaargh!

EDIT: NVM, circle thingy seems to be autosave, duh.

EDIT2: 360 Pad makes this game awesome - rumble is great too! :D

Really loved the old-school vibe they brought through in the characters and voice acting. Stunning gfx, really satisfying combat (although the boss fights were a bit predictable once you worked it out), and the challenges give it a bit of replay value.

"Seeya later B-Maaaaaan!"

Well I stayed up too late playing this... The Scarecrow bit was a bit mental! :p Xbox controller definitely helped there. Brilliant, a game that holds my attention for a change! Love the combat and sneaky stuff too!

Quite easily one of the best games I've ever played. I hate stealth games as well but the stealth parts in this game don't get the same negative vibes with me which makes a nice change lol.

FFS now i'm going to have to buy it again and play in on a 360 pad, I used keyborad and mouse last time. Any good deals anywhere?

Edit : Bought for £7.50 off Eidos website

No mate, she looked very sexy. I felt quite sad when I thought along the same lines as you.

Glad you're enjoying your game. Much better then BioShock 2, you'll enjoy it even more when you get towards the end.... It gets 'really' good the more you progress.

Enjoy..!!

Aye, cheers... Bioshock 2 should have been so much more fun, especially with dual plasmids, but I got bored after about an hour of playing. I didn't like the idea of playing a Big Daddy, and I didn't like the protecting thing either :( Shame, as Bioshock 1 was one of my favourite games at the time.

The 360 controller tip was by far the best, I hated the idea at first because I'm so used to mouse look, but the pad is 2nd nature now (although I spent the first 20 mins deciding whether or not I wanted inverted look or not).

Really impressed with the attention to detail in this, especially damage to your suit. I usually avoid "film" or licenced product games as they tend to be carp, so glad I took a chance on this. Oh, triple Batarangs = win ;)
