***ArmA 3 Thread***

Flying transport is one of those strange things I love doing. Its nice sometimes when you're not 100% in the mood for the gritty action, it can be quite relaxing to sit on call, get your long range radio on and be there ready as a reliable transport pilot. Its not the most fun job in the game. But I know the guys on the ground appreciate having a good dedicated transport pilot on call.

I appreciate a good pilot to ferry us back and forth when I am playing as a grunt. It's never fun to be sat round at base when the action is going on miles away.

When I have played in organised groups, I'm never really the go to guy for a pilot as I am not, in my opinion, a great pilot.

A dependable, dedicated pilot will be more important on the bigger island when it's released.

oh yeah, In stasis its not quite as big a deal. Certainly want a dedicated pilot for the big maps.

Practice is the only way to get good. People can "teach" you concepts but its all about motor skills which you need to learn :)

Turn them into BF3 heli's and I will pwn anyone in the air! Unfortunately at the moment I am pretty good at flying, it's the landing that is the issue....stupid angled ground :mad:

I love co-op on this. Its a shame there aren't more missions out there at the moment but joining random servers doesn't seem to be much of an issue as everyone seems level headed and ready to play the mode the way its meant to be played. Makes a change to other games I play

They do fly like BF3 helis, thats why I dislike them so much compared to arma2. Also, they "lock" to the ground and you can land them super hard. So landing should be easy.

in arma2, if you want to drop someone on a steep slope, you have to be able to keep a dead straight hover 2ft from the ground.

Oh I'll be practicing, can't promise I can help out yet with Pilot duties tho. I don't think you can't pilot in your pants.

Anyway, let's say a day this week when we can all get on that kick ass mission (except wed, got a clan war)...How about Tues?

Shashman and nicks3607 can you post your steamID's please.

Shashman82? Bournemouth/Hampshire?

I have 1 free invite left guys... post your steamID here, first come first serve.

Wonder if you guys may know this, I need to add the above to the mission init.sqf but I have no idea how to do that at all??? Tried searching for script tutorials as I guess its somthing to do with that?? I have tried creating a text file with this pasted in and saved as init.sqf in the same folder as the .pbo file. is that correct???? There are several .pbos in there from other missions, will this affect all of them?

AI accuracy and spotting skill is just silly atm...changing the setting in the profile file does not seem to work for me either :(

You need to unpbo whatever mission you are wanting to edit, edit the init.sqf then repbo the mission.

Won't setting all those to 0.1 make it way too easy though? These are the approx ranges:

Novice < 0.25
Rookie >= 0.25 and <= 0.45
Recruit > 0.45 and <= 0.65
Veteran > 0.65 and <= 0.85
Expert > 0.85

Yea, I was thinking more along the .25 range, that was literally just a copy paste.

Thanks though, will give what you suggested a bash!
