***ArmA 3 Thread***

Im in....

TrackIR arrived today, jeez its wonderful to use!!!

I would recommend it to anyone...

Either that get a webcam and use NotrackIR, it really does change the game!

I used it before with home made tracking device, 3 leds glued onto a skip cap, worked well enough just got a bit sweaty wearing skip cap all the time..

how does the proper trackIR compare to the tracknoIR? I tried notrack before on FSX with a hd webcam, but didn't really like it because I felt like I had to keep my head completely still, also it chewed up a lot of the cpu which in fsx was very noticeable, never tried in arma though.

Is this what you're using mate?

In the settings I imagine there will be a way of setting up a dead zone so that you only get head movement when moving outside a set range, I say I imagine as I've not personally used Notrack myself but it would seem like a massive error not to include such a setting.

Really tempted but I just blew my budget on a Titan, if that comes through the door the missus will have me hanged, drawn and quartered

Use a webcam then with http://facetracknoir.sourceforge.net/home/default.htm

Works well...

Cant remember the name of the other one you can use with a webcam covered with filters... Also, supposedly a PS3 cam is one of the best to use.

@thingmajig

Night and day mate, extremely smooth. It really is alike a whole new game, never once felt the need to come out of first person mode!

You also have freetrack, which can use LEDs as well, that is the one I used when I had my skip cap with the home made LED pointers... I used 3d glasses filaments to create my IR filter, 3 of them layered on top of each other...

Just tested out a couple of missions for tomorrow night. Was a laugh with only 6. With over 20 of us on it's going to be mental!

Using the lazy option here, instead of making the LED clip I just bought a Track IR Clip and the PS3 webcam :o

It really is excellent in Arma, and other games like DCS World.
