Turn your head as far as you can, your periferal vision can see "directly behind you", yes?

Ok, so, someone infront of me (in game, where im aiming) is fully shooting the bajeezers into the front of me. I cant see it, it takes too long to turn my head/neck/body all the way round again. I die. I rage.

Replace this with track IR (as stated in the video almost) I can look all the way around, while being able to glance at my crosshair which is covering my destination.

same effect, you get shot to ****.

I was just pointing out that it takes more time and physical effort (strain) to rotate your head to see behind you.

The other guy saying Trackir is useless obviously cant grasp the concept of the 6 degrees of motion it offers with minimal effort. Sure its not perfect but its more conceivable than being sat inside a sphere of screens lol.

Im looking forward to it but like you I wont be completely sold untill I see some video footage of some combat and the AI not being idiotic.

I loved OF, but ARMA was pretty poor IMO. Got high hopes for this - not sure I can stretch to the TrackIR...maybe if they had had Source engine implementation...

I think I might go for it as I'm not buying many games these days. I do need a better PC first and that's my top priority. For what it is though it's seems over priced.

Trackir works so well in ArmA and flight sims. There's no way I could play either now without it. If you plan to play ArmA 2 quite a lot then it's well worth the money.

I havent got one (yet

wanna see some more vids of the game first) but hes affiliated on the trackir website so id trust him

other places (from googling) have said that the person who ows the shop is really helpfull too so i suggest popping them an email or something.

yeh as they dont seem to be selling the v5 atm.

From what I have read the v4 hardware is fine and will work with the v5 software, making it better.

im tempted to get the v4 for £100

IMO there is little improvement to justify and extra 50 quid for v5. I have a TIR2 and TIR4, The TIR 4 was a true leap above the old versions feature wise, the v5 is much less a leap above the v4.

If I was to go for one now I'd still get the v4.

I dunno how much ill use trackir, ill start playing racing games thats for sure. Maybe dust off me racing wheel in the loft.

is £99 good for the v4? I may try haggle with the shop

v5 only got announced the other day, probably waiting for their shipment from the usa to arrive

Its on order though isnt it?

v4 for 100quid is tempting though o:
you need the cap/clip thing too? which makes 120?

then the tr5 is only 140

I installed the version 5 beta software today and it's a marked improvement on the last interface. The whole thing feels much smoother with the new drivers and the calibration is better layed out.

You get the cap clip thing with the TIR4 & 5. The IR LED thing for your mic is extra (and not needed tbh).
