I don't know what to make of it
Some parts of it look good, like the textures and the huge maps... but other parts look poor like the explosions of the buildings and bridges at the start.
shadows seem to be the biggest hit for me, put them from low to off, i gain at least 10fps. Even with all the options to low/disabled, get about 20fps at 1920x1200, thats with fx60@3ghz, x1900 crossfire, 2gb ram. I'll try and post some screens tomorrow.

Dam this baffled me also but i found out you have to untick the first box on the install and it installs fine.

So are people on here with the german version getting it switched to english voices ok?

Not to forget though the reporter in the campaign speaks german but it has subtitles.

Yep same here, mind you peps have been saying the german version has lost fps due to the security. Only getting 10-30 fps was hoping for a bit more. might give this game a miss if i cant get any more juice out if it. not that i want too bin looking forward to it
Have you guys patched the game yet?
The german version does suffer and thus requires a 1.1 patch.
Also fiddle around with your settings a little more.
Most computers struggled with OFP on release, it is the same this time I am afraid!

Iam a long time ofp player ( I still play it 5 YEARS after release)
I downloaded the cz version ( which I tried on my amd 3500 + 9800pro ) it ran pretty bad even at 800x600 with everything off
I bought the german downloaded version....
On my new system ( e6600 @ 3.2G , 8800GTX + 2G 800mHz ram)
It still runs pretty badly
I tried the german patch ( wont work with downloaded version - it now asks for a cdrom u dont have )
Could other people with the game please go to

The German downloaded version ALREADY had 1.1 applied 
so no need to install that patch. Just the lang patch if you need - and I am sure you know where that is.
Will see if I get a chance to test my settings tonight mate. I am getting about 30-40 with most things on low.

I was just here sorting out my system to get it ready for this game when I saw this thread.
Since you're all looking at playing it this is what I'm getting ready for......its a big organised battle tour of duty based on arma....

Which is being run by some friends of mine in the US and America. It has proper rank structures, and armies, divisions, battlions and so forth.
Not little kids, mostly good blokes. full TS etc. At the moment they're doing tactics runthrough using ofp to get ready....they take it pretty seriously.
ie You can ground pound or if you like tanks you can be a tanker, - if you fly well you can try out for AVN.
There are two armies (obviously) Russian and US - you can try out for either.
I think they're going to do a beta tour soon which will be v cheap or free to work out the kinks.....as soon as the US version becomes available.
But there are guys on there now using the czech and german versions and patching them to english.
Its being run by a bunch of blokes who played BF2C. Highly structured. No noobs, smacktards or idiots and a few military guys keeping us all in order
I'm in the 501 Parachute (Airbourne) though most brits seem to be going to the russian side!
Have a look at the forums and see what you think. Should be cool.
Personally for me I like playing with these guys over pub servers, since they have pilots that can drop me right on the action. With maps like that....haha, you'll need it.
