A guy in the graphics section does have a 8800GTX and this.. and he was complaining about it.. basically OFP has always just been a tonne of geometry, and it still is.. we invented shaders etc to remove the load on geometry which basically requires more gfx card grunt (AFAIK).. but OFP still has a tonne of the stuff..Porsche911r101 said:hows it gonna look and run on either 8800gtx or 1950xtx ? mmmm

I tried running with most settings on Normal and shadows set to low and according to FRAPS I was gettin 20-30 FPS when doing the training missions. When I loaded the Convoy Attack single mission, I don't think I got into double figures![]()
I will try it with shadows turned off later and maybe turn a couple of the settings to low and see how that goes.
Hope they patch this, from a performance point of view, as I can't see why it is such a system hog, the graphics are good but not exactly bleeding edge and there doesn't seem to be an overdose of physics going on, your vehicles simply pass through trees and fences etc.
Loved OFP and looking forward to getting into this.

I don't really want to buy the game *again* but only if I HAVE TO to play MP
But man, this game ran like crap last night, there's no way you're going to get huge battles working tbh :/
I keep having to turn options down but I was trying the night mission and eventually I was getting 5-7fps, on my rig in my signature.
Tho the campaign mission ran like a dream.
Guess they need to work out kinks/bugs.
And i'll just have to lower more settings.

ChrisJSY said:You know, it could have been a memory leak or something, even when I quit the game to main menu my whole system was crapping out.
So much so my mouse cursor started having problems! >_<
It hurts, spending this much on a PC and getting a game that runs poorly even when you start knocking stuff from very high, to high, to normal..and even then some (shadows) on low.
And when you think it's running fine having a base full of enemy ai units and tanks brings thing to a halt.
Bleh!

Whhich version is securom on?Neil79 said:Apparantly the securom version is even worse
philbf2 said:DON'T BUY THE GERMAN VERSION!!! someone should stick this at the top of the thread.
The security software run on the german version is old and killing the game performance.
Also...I know you really want to play it, but you're goign to have to keep patchign it to english each time they release a patch, hotpatch, or sneeze. And do it all in german!
Wait till jan/feb...it'll be better. And then come and play in the tourney. See a few posts up.
bingham67 said:No its not its just the game poorly optimised and plus the guy can squeeze more juice out of that card i have 7800gtx and i can put settings up and runs fine.
I run it at 1280 by 1024 and my settings are
View Distance = 1097
Terrain Detail = High
Object Detail = High
Texture Detail = High
Shade Detail = Very High
Post Process Effects = Low
AF = Very High
Shadow Detail = Disabled
AA = Low
It runs fine 20-30fps the game just poorly optimised though and CPU intensive.![]()
