Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon

Loved the original Armored Core on the playstation. I did play AC5 on the xbox360 and enjoyed it but it had become far too twitchy, reaction based for my tastes at the time.

Looking forward to see what they do with this and on PC as well. The customisation will hopefully be immense.

Huge fan of the AC series, played the crap out of the PS one version, spent days just configuring my mech and trying to balance dmg output to weight ratio. Looking forward to giving this a wee blast when it launches.

I played a bit of armoured core years ago either on the PS2 or PS3. I didn't remember it being a must buy series for me at the time. So imagine my surprise when I stumble upon the fact that, From software are the developers behind the armoured core series.

I noticed that there is a 10 year time gap since the last entry, with that time being mostly occupied by the souls/souls like series. A lot has changed both interms of, From software as a company and the gaming landscape. It will be interesting to see how they've incorporated all they've learnt from the combat of the souls series into this game. They've already said they will be adding a posture system to this game.

I'm happy they're taking a slight step backwards from the twitch speed instantly that was some of the more recent games (AC4 iirc). The ceo interview answered some good questions I felt.

New Gameplay video. I can't find an original source video though.
Edit: Skip to 22 mins 55 seconds for the raw gameplay footage

I think a Japanese channel had it. IGN Japan, maybe?
Now that I have finished watching it you can skip to 22 mins 55 secs for the raw footage. I'll edit my post to add this in.

The commentary is quite interesting as he discusses things that were shown in a close door showcase and describes the HUD elements which is not available in the footage he was given.

It does look good and I'm very happy they've moved away from the insane speed and twitchy'ness that the newer games had. Footage is giving me real AC1 vibes.

Looking forward to playing it although there's a lot of big games out almost the same time.

haven't played any of this series so far, is there much story to catchup on?
I haven’t either so I could not tell you. :D

From what I have gathered I do not believe that the stories are interconnected. I think it may be similar to Final Fantasy where certain elements are carried over but there is no strict story continuity between them.
