Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon

I've been happily smashing through with dual bazookas on hands, dual songbirds on the shoulders, Big boom :D

I did swap one arm out for a Minigun on the spider boss just for maximising the damage when he was stunned, which was easily repeatable, songbirds got him to 80%, remaining bazooka stunned him, minigun him whilst the other weapons reloaded then a big second volley and back off.

Even without the heavy legs If you boost up high you can stay afloat for ages by cycling each arm/shoulder in sequence, firing locks you in the air for a moment which allows some energy to recover to boost back up, don't think I touched the floor in that smelter robot fight.

the frustrating part is he killed me with me not doing much damage multiple times :p

just been farming credits to have more options available for when i go for him again, gonna have to change my build for him :)
Another option if parky’s build doesn’t work for you. I’ve been trying to S-rank the spider boss and the build I was trying out was pile bunker and the linear rifle (you could probably swap this for the mini gun) with the rocket launcher that can fire 10 missiles (one on each shoulder). It moves slow enough that generally the full barrage will hit it and build up a lot of ACS. When stunned go in with the pile driver. Make sure to charge it up and you will do some pretty hefty damage.

I only started trying out melee weapons when I got to mission 2 of chapter 4 and damn I regret not using them earlier they are amazing especially with the weapons bay upgrade.

just tested out spider legs for air borne mobility and 2 gatling guns and 2 of the song things on my back, with the lightest armour i could use to get the weight limit down for the spider legs, just wow i was able to get up and personal with the boss and stun him a lot plus fly about for ages.

yay killed the boss on my first test run with about 2000 hp left lmao

edit: i never realised dual wielded weapons each have their own ammo pool :)

thanks for the help guys :)

wow it was melee weapons that done most of the dmg for me on the first boss, they are stupidly strong if you can get close enough :)

CEL 240...
Just, yea... What a skill wall this boss is. Got her to the second phase a couple of times but after around 6 attempts. I'm calling it a night.

I've really put time into my builds and the game is really starting to click now, easily GOTY for me at this point.

First play through complete. FYI it immediately launches you into NG+.

Brilliant game, the gameplay is soo good. The mech handles well and the gunplay is great. The customisation options are amazing and the weapons and how they afffect your play style is awesome.

The first ending I got doesn’t really finish with a proper conclusion. I look forward to seeing the other endings available.

There is also one question that is yet to be answered in the first playthrough. What faction owned those invisible mechs? There is the mission to investigate Baws where you encounter them and in chapter one you get a mission to clear out the starting area, you can find an invisible mech there as well. We’ll see if we get any answers.

So I’ve gotten to the early part of chapter 2. I’ve encountered two brand new missions and a variation of an existing one. I quite like the twist on that.

Looking forward to seeing more of the arena challenges
as well as whatever all mind is building with all that training data

just finished the d rank arena's and my first c rank with the dual gatlings and songbirds, it melted them pretty good especially when the songbirds hit :)

just done the first boss on the floating city as well with a more normal build.

Probably the only games so far that has made me sweat as it got so intense trying to dodge and time my attacks. Started to get cramp in my hand LOL

dang i just got to cel 240 i got it to its second form the first time with dual mini guns and songbirds but just nope lol

any one got any tips for this beast? gonna try and go light mech as my current one is super heavy :)

edit: just done it with my heavy mech, swapped out the songbirds for the needle cannons and it worked pretty good :)

edit2 : the needle cannons can almost stun him so if both hit your laughing and zoom in with both mini guns going and my mini guns overheated at a few points when i had him stunned and the needle gun that was rdy done a load of damage :)

Scary boss that end of chapter 4 one. First time I beat it my terminal armor went off right before my last shot, so ended on 1hp.

I used the needle cannons too, makes it massively easier than without.

hehe had terminal armour go of a few bosses before that and won on 1 hp :)

New patch is out. Good to see them balancing weapons as well as from what I'd read, they have a tendency to not balance their past games regularly.

Balance Adjustments

  • Weapon Unit balance adjustments:
    • MA-J-200 RANSETSU-RF: Increased attack power/rate of fire, decreased reload time.
    • LR-036 CURTIS: Increased attack power, decreased reload time.
    • RF-024 TURNER: Increased attack power/projectile speed, decreased reload time.
    • RF-025 SCUDDER: Increased attack power/projectile speed, decreased reload time.
    • MA-J-201 RANSETSU-AR: Increased attack power/projectile speed, decreased reload time.
    • MG-014 LUDLOW: Increased attack power/total rounds/projectile speed, decreased recoil and reload time.
    • DF-MG-02 CHANG-CHEN: Increased attack power/total rounds/projectile speed, decreased reload time.
    • MA-E-210 ETSUJIN: Increased attack power/total rounds/projectile speed, decreased reload time.
  • Adjusted certain attacks performed by the enemy units AAP07: BALTEUS, IA-13: SEA SPIDER and IB-01: CEL240.

Seems like a buff to all the linear rifles and assault rifles. Maybe some of energy ones as well but I don’t recognise all the names.

Zimmermanns are untouched to the delight of many :D

I’m guessing it probably brings the DPS up inline with the shotguns.
