I thought I would do one to stick up for us girls. As the title says, why cant men take a hint?
Ok so im single, and ive got this bloke I know, who I would simply like to spend a bit more time getting to know, so I sent him a txt yesterday which said

"I know its a week away, but did you want to go to the reserves game next Wednesday" (for our local footy team)

I get a txt back

"Yep going to the City game on Sept 11th"

Why cant he take the hint and see that I was asking him if we could go together!?!??!

You not saying what you mean is an opportunity for us to 'misunderstand' and do whatever we like. So say what you mean, much like the thread you mentioned ;)
 
Should have said..

I know its a week away, but did you want to go to the reserves game next Wednesday with me ;)

Carn't really be any more clear then.

And how about;

The rest of the txt, which doesnt really relate to anything, said

"Sorry only just got credit, cant believe we won yesterday, hope you had a nice weekend"
 
There's two types of men. Men who can't take hints and those who can. The ones that can are often the types that think women who actually talk to them fancy them. Obviously they learn that this is wrong the hard way and as a result they are sort of desensitised in this respect as they don't want to have to say "But you seemed interested :confused:" again.

It's also due to many MANY women being ridiculously flirtatious when they aren't actually interested at all.

:Edit: I live right by the Rovers ground now so if you want to go see them (I presume there's at least one non-crazy fan in Bristol..) then I'll come :p

Your text seems a blatant offer to go with you, he must be a bit of a lemon :p

Do as Ste Bla says, playfully 'force' him to go with you, hehe.
 
He sounds a bit dense to me.

If you had said "are you going" I can understand him getting the wrong end of the stick. specifically asking him if he wants to go should be pretty obvious.

So, he is obviously dense and you shouldn't talk to him ever again.

Just tell him You are going together, then if he makes excuses you know he isn't interested.
