Arsenal v Villarreal + AC Milan v Barcelona (Spoilage)

Well done Arsenal, it's always good when an English team makes the final, it means the pub will be packed on the Wednesday.

I'll have to root for your opponents though, because if Arsenal win it my team will have to qualify. It'll be hard because Man Utd and Liverpool were both backed to the hilt up here.

Well off to Paris, just booked me flight to Toures (1hr on train from gay-paris) an should get ticket from me season ticket. flight cost 120 after all the extras they scam you for but will be awesome.

Jens showed again that he's the most integral part of our defence - and never, ever bet against a German in a penalty situation!

On that display Arsenal didn’t deserve to go through, Villarreal played out of their socks, Requelme was on top of his game, fantastic display from the whole team. Well anything can happen in the final now so whoever they face they have every chance of actually winning it.

Villareal played out of their socks? They barely created any chances against an Arsenal team who were very poor on the night by their own high standards. They played far better against Everton when they spawned their way through.

aye i'd like to try and make babies with her. God i'm fubard.
Likewise

Everyone in the pub I was in except from me was supporting Arsenal, so I got a right roasting when Villarreal they missed the pen. However, being fubared the night before an exam is a very bad idea, ended up chatting with a very nice lass though so wasn't that bad.

Hate to say it, but congrats Arsenal.

To be honest, she is a fairly cute fit girl wearing a match jersey. I doubt you'd notice her in the borough (RBKC) ;)

To be honest, as a Chelski supporter, I shouted with joy when Lehman saved!
I think it is great Arsenal are in the final. Except for last nigh they have played nice and entertaining football, like a few years back. Quick, one touch passing with plenty of runs.

Happy! :)

Most of the game he was superb, and i rate him highly. Give him the benefit of the doubt in the first leg, but have you seen him play other than in the CL? A fantastic player, problem is Argentina have too many players in that role now...

Yeah i've seen in the league and he is a quailty play but i do feel he's not as good as he is made out to be.But never the less he's quailty:)

Yeah i like Carlos Trez he seems to be able to play that role to but they play him up front more. They have a lot of talents but they did in japan 2002 as well.

Well done Arsenal, it wasn't pretty but job done in the end.

All their fans will know that the team will raise their game in the final.

Should be a cracker whether it's Milan or Barca that get through

Well it wasn't the best game ever, but I still enjoyed it. Mainly because of the good passing from Villareal, some good moments of skill and silky moves. I also thought Hleb was good tonight, he's got really good control. As for him giving it away a lot, he did get surrounded by yellow shirts with no one to pass to. What's he supposed to do?

As for the penalty that wasn't, I thought Lehman would save it and I was almost happy when he did. Good to see Arsenal in the final and most likely against Barca. Hopefully that will be a good open game and not a tactical stand off.

Well done Arsene-all.

Woot \o/ Arsenal did it last night albeit by the skin of their noses. Ill admit that Villareal played well and were unlucky to not score a few goals in the game. As for that penalty?? no way on gods earth that was a penalty and anyone who thinks it was...needs their heads checking.

Definitely not one of Arsenals better performances, i think the pitch itself had a lot to do with it...the gooners just couldnt control or pass the ball the way they like to. Sol Campbell as dire in defence, although had a few flashes of brilliance....thanks to Toure they managed to survive but definitely wasnt impressed by their performance. They really are gonna have to play better than that to win the final because Barca, if they get to the final will rip Arsenal to shreds on that performance alone. We all know Eto and ronaldhinho dont miss very often hehe.

Lehmann what a performance, what a save :D:D. You noticed after the save, Henry finally got up and decided to do something...almost scored a goal too...just wish Arsenal would have played more like that last night. But meh they won and are in the final so thats all that matters to me. Bring on Milan or Barca, prefer to have Barca as i absolutely love Ronaldinho and his skills on the ball.

Better luck next year Villareal ;)

EDIT: Still buzzing from last night as well hehe:D

We're going to Paris to Play in the Final of the Champions League!!!!

I have been wanting to say that for ages. Didn't take my eyes off the Screen for a second.....Mostly due to nerves and worry - when the final whistle went I gave a quick punch in the air and then slouched back into the couch in exhaust.
Arsenal put up an 'expected' away pressured game performance but got away with it, indeed, destiny favoured the Redcurrants lastnight.
I read all the articles in the Daily Mail this morning, noticeable praise and negativity from the journalistic panel - exceptional collumn by Paul Hayward but the /10 player ratings didn't reflect the true performances at all for the most - eg, they Gave Flamini 5/10 and Gilberto got the same?? I often wonder if the Journalists actually do know anything about football at all - extra points should be awarded considering pressure/fatigue and playing in uncharted territory but what do they know anyway lol.
Lehman and Clichy deserve special mentions, I though Gael did a terrific job of filling the left back and spearing up the left in darting runs, can't be easy coming back and playing in a game like lastnight but he held it together in a gutsy show. Sol had a decent game though he looked a bit doughy around the mid section and Ljunberg and Pires did there usual hard-nosed team job.
Villarreal rocked the boat, could have easily upset the game and beat us - They played a good passing game and were tough off the ball and when defending set pieces - Senna looked dangerous as did 4-5 of the front men when given space (which they had a lot of in the 3rd quarter of the pitch) Shame to see Riquelme's penalty saved for it might have woken Arsenal up and made them work harder being dragged through the nettles of extra-time if you know what I mean.....So May 17th it is, Be it Barca or Milan, we need to play the game of the season and win it in style.
