Problem with Hleb for me is he seems a good dribbler but his passing is poor, he needs to add more strings to his bow. Gives the ball away too often when put under pressure.
Got to say I was perversely pleased to see Flamini get injured as he tends to get caught out of position and I've been hoping that Clichy or Cole would get back in the side before the end of the season.
Campbell wasn't dominant but hopefully he can get another 4 games under his belt before the world cup and make the squad now that King is injured.
One thing I was slightly suprised at was that Arsenal were trying to run the clock down right from the start, I mean after only like 10mins Lehmann was shepherding the ball out for a goalkick rather than picking it up etc. We never really got going and it was a risky tactic (sitting back on our slender lead) which in the end only paid off thanks to the saved penalty. I guess the most damning critisism I can land at their feet is this:
Arsenal reminded me of England under Eriksson. I was really afraid that if Villereal scores, we'd have no momentum and wouldn't be able to get ourselves back into the game and start upping the tempo. Henry was completed isolated and it wasn't until Pires came on that we started to look vaguely threatening.
Gilberto was MOM for me. A lot was said about how he should have been sent off, but the only reason he kicked out was because the other bloke kinda stamped on him as they went down. That seemed to be brushed over by the commentators (probably due to the hugely biased spanish editing).
To be honest Villareal were the better side but they didn't take any of their chances. Arsenal deserved to win the first leg by more than 1 goal, and that pen was a joke, just a gentle shoulder change and he went down like a sack of spuds. That cheating **** Alvarez was much worse with his rugby tackle on Henry in the box and all the nonsense with Ljungberg.
To be honest apart from the final 5mins this match was pretty lacking in entertainment, until that point the only thing of note was the bloke handing Henry a Barca shirt, classic
...anyway enough of the measured analysis.....
GET IN!!!!!
