Ashes of the Singularity Coming, with DX12 Benchmark in thread.

Please explain why a software+hardware solution will do very little to change that? I am interested in why that is.

Just so you know I have no intention of arguing with anyone. That said, doesn't Maxwell only have 1 ACE? GCN AFAIK has 8 doesn't it? A driver isn't going to change that.

Isn't Nvidia going to use context switching instead?

Edit: Although I don't see why people are making any conclusions from one game...

Good news that Nvidia is planning to implement async compute via software but I'm skeptical of how well it would work compared to AMD's hardware solution especially in games which will make heavy use of async compute.

Nvidia have never really said much about how async compute works in their cards compared to AMD.

Though software can only go so far

Interesting read here.. It would be a lie if I said I fully understand everything written here but worth going through.

That's an interesting read alright. Mahigan seems to know his stuff.
Looks like Nvidia's Async Compute is definitely part software based so they will have to really tune their drivers to get good performance or get devs to make alternate code paths for their cards. And that slide about Pascal...dear oh dear.

Yer, agreed that there was massive issues but more to do with the dev than GameWorks and as for Mirror's Edge 2, I also worry because of who the dev is and their track record isn't the best.

ME is Mirrors Edge? I thought you meant the new Mass Effect game! In that case they can put all the proprietary crap they want into it for all I care.
