However, thinking about it, is there a link between the type of crime and race? White people tend to the crazy murder type thing. Clearly south asians are rapists and thiefs...

Cheets seems to think England was a green and beautiful land until some 'darkies' came and ruined it all. Yes certain crimes always seem to fall under certain ethnic groups but you see as many white rapists in the news as 'immigrants' and a walk around the estates of North London shows you that young white people are heavily involved in gangs too. You only need to look through some of his posts to see what a xenophobe he is.

Exactly. Every single country in the world has crime, and has done for hundreds if not thousands of years.

Granted, everyone commits crimes but do you not think if you moved to Pakistan and raped somebody that people would hate you more than if you were a native Pakistani? It's just prejudice, everybody has it, human nature, keeps us alive.

But these are probably not immigrant as such, they are probably 2nd or 3rd generation British citizens. I do understand what you're saying, but everyone loves to think of this country as such a tolerant and accepting country, Pakistan does not have the same burden of reputation attached to it.

I would have thought that we have evolved to a certain point that although certain cultures seem to crop up in certain cases, we were smart enough to see that EVERY section of society has it's own individual issues that need to be targeted. Us whiteys seem to be big on fraud and kiddy fiddling at the moment, there doesn't seem to be any stereotype towards white people regarding that?

White British people commit fraud, rape, murder, theft and are in gangs too. Deal with it.

Also to Janesy. Yes, I know they do. I'm not saying we're better than any other race at all. I'm just saying why some people will show more hatred towards different races. Prejudice. Picture this, it's a day after the London bombings and you are board an aeroplane. You see a shifty looking Asian man with a backpack on. Would you not be at all concerned or scared? I mean if you are, isn't that racism and prejudice? You wouldn't even have to say anything but just to think those thoughts and feel concerned specifically because of his race and his race's recent reputation?

Same as why there's only a few jokes against white people, and they're crap. Because usually all the racist jokes come from the whites. Once again, I am joking, but let's assume it to be true, that would explain why people don't stereotypes towards white people as paedophiles etc

thing is, you have to look at the percentages. We are constantly told that the Asian percentage in the UK is so low...but when the number of crimes of certain natures are so widely publicised then are they doing more than their proportion should?

So, completely made up figures:

If crime X was done 50 times a year by white people. But there are 50 million white population

and if the same crime was committed 30 times by a population of only 1 million asians, then does this not represent an issue?

Do you have any percentages to suggest that there is a significantly greater proportion of non white people committing crimes than white people? I think that there is more useful statistical work that can be done for crimes rather than mapping the nationality, race, or citizenship of criminals.

Even then correlation does not equal causation. The link you would probably find is not between race and crime but between poverty and crime and between poverty and race.

That's very true. There's a correlation between having skin and getting skin cancer. ie: everyone who gets skin cancer has skin. Doesn't mean that skin causes skin cancer does it?
