If you believe you are insured but your vehicle is not appearing on the MID you must contact your insurance provider to submit your policy detail immediately. askMID cannot change these details.

If you do not have vehicle insurance, you must contact an insurance provider to purchase a valid motor insurance policy.

It is a legal requirement (as of 2011) for vehicle keepers to be covered by insurance at all times unless the vehicle is declared off-road (SORN). (LINK)
The web-site then goes on to warn:
If your vehicle details are not on the MID you are at risk of being fined and facing court prosecution. You may also be stopped by the Police and have your vehicle impounded, and possibly disposed of, if proof of insurace cannot be provided.
However, even if you have proof of insurance, you cannot change the DVLA details, only your incompetent insurer can do that.

How about you fine the sodding insurer you morons?

The insurer in question here is Aviva.

The details on the MID are:

Vehicle Make/Model: VW GOLF GTI (200)

What's the problem? If you have an active insurance policy and you can prove it, you have nothing to worry about.

Have you informed Aviva that it's not on the database?

Is it really that hard to print of a copy of your policy in stick it in your glovebox?

If the police pull you for no insurance it's a simple phonecall to your insurer to prove your policy is ok and away you go.

It's saying you could be fined if you have no insurance, and mostly (but not always) the reason for not being on ask mid is no insurance.

It is not saying people with insured cars not showing on ask mid get fined.

But then its you, so I am surprised you don't think its a Tory conspiracy. You already think car threads don't go in motors if they are not about a BMW so it seems your lack of capacity for logical thought is not restricted to politics.

I completely agree. Its madness how you can be held responsible for data errors you have no control over. Its even more so when the Government insists you must use the services of a private company to comply with UK law. The Motor Insurance Database, Police and UK insurers need to be much better regulated.

I think the Insurer and Police should be open to penalisation and prosecution for the wrongful confiscating of vehicles.

You cannot be. You are not responsible for what is on AskMID and you are not punished if your car isn't on there.

You are, however, responsible for insuring your car, and are punished if you do not.

As the biggest reason for a car not being on AskMID is because it isnt insured, it is accurate to say that if it isn't on there you MIGHT be charged.

Why do you completely agree with false statements? Do you lack the ability to form your own opinion based on fact?

I was not talking specifically about the askMID site. I was talking about the insurance data base.

Cant you comprehend what I wrote?

Accuracy or comprehension not your strong suit . . . or both?

I think that you should go back and read again:.
If your vehicle details are not on the MID you are at risk of being fined and facing court prosecution.
That may not be what will happen but it certainly says that it could be.

Err you replied to a post saying 'I agree', that post was about AskMID.

Perhaps you should make these things more clear in future?

Can you?

This is clearly a little more topical than a website having incorrect insurance details tho. I cant see what your struggling TBH.

And, yes I can comprehend what I wrote.
