Thats pretty much what I want to do so i'll be fascinated to see what performace you get out of it

I have just purchased a 775Daul-VSTA, E6400 and Freezer 7 Pro. This will do nicely as an interim solution, until I can bring myself to get some decent DDR2 and a good 965 or 975 Mobo. For the moment I will be using my 2GB of OCZ Platinum PC3200 and my X1800XL.

Should be interesting to see how it performs in comp to my current setup.

A nice upgrade for not much £'s.

Especially when you can consider that you could pay nearly three times as much for a board that still has teething problems.

That was my thinking. Although people have said that the Gigabyte DS3/DS4 are good overclockers, I have a feeling that a couple of months down the line, motherboards optimised for Core2Duo (and maybe those delicious quadcores) will be more stable and better at overclocking.
As I'm not overclocking on this motherboard atm, when I do on a new motherboard, it'll feel like getting a new computer.
A 130 quid motherboard update will bring along hopefully a increase of 1 extra Ghz and huge increase in FSB.

And maybe the motherboard headers then will work with my case :/
All the major buttons on my case (Antec P150) work, as does the USBs, but the HDD and Power leds refuse to turn on and the headphone and microphone jacks at the front aren't working.
*sigh*

well finally installed mine last night.

I'm having loads of windows freezes

ALso anyone got information on the BIOS and what it all does as when I look at my GFX screen it defaults to PCI instead of PCIe GFX is this right should I change it.

The manual says all the bios info is on the disc. Which is right but it's only in chinese hehe

I'm going to do a fresh install of windows later (waiting for a sata drive to arrive) at the moment i'm using my IDE. Will report back with some test findings once I get a stable windows.

got mine installed yeaterday. board is rock stable, feels generally faster as expected. will be doing some testing soon.

Im running 6300 with 1gb ddr400 and 6800gt now so if anyway wants some benchies let me know.

havent tried overclocking at all. i know this board isnt great at it anyway.

one this is im able ot play Fear with better settings without the hangs before.

Huge problems with this board.

I'm having HUGE problems with my board

check out my thread here..

Anyone else running a 7600GT PCIe on this mobo. I'm afraid it might be one of the card that aren't compatible.... I knew I should have bought the X1900XT :(

I will try an install with my AGP card tonight then i'll have to see if I can find a shop to test my PCIe card.

I have my E6400 up and running on the 775Dual-VSTA now, running at stock speed. Have put the latest BIOS on and it is running nice and smooth.
I overclocked it to 2.4GHz (300FSB) and it seemed to be running fine until I ran 3DMark 2003 on it and it rebooted, so I turned it back down to stock.

Has anyone found a program that gives a proper CPU temperature reading. I have used a few programs (MBM, SysTool, SpeedFan) and they all seem to have trouble. One gave me temp readings of 36c idle and one gave me a reading of 60c idle. But in both instances the temp hardly rose (+1c) when doing an 8M SuperPi and that can't be right.

im using coretemp

sees to get it right. I need a better cooler than the stock intel. it goes to 56c witha little oc to 290fsb. need to get better cooling but deciding to go back to water or go for air. Can get good custom water for 100 or decent air for 40 i see.

Cheers, I will give that a go later. I will let you know what temps I am getting with the AC Freezer 7 Pro.

any chance u can put up some scores from PCmark05 and 3Dmark05??

getting a asrock form me this week but i was on a 939 option and a 4600x2
only reason cause I was of the opinion that generally the more hardware a mobo has the less stable it is..

and when i saw ddr and ddr2, agp and pci-e i said okzz this mobo is gonna be... s***

and to no surprise some ppl have experienced odd problems regarding memory configs.
at stock though I think it is a gem and it will serve me more than adequaetly

BUT and it is a big BUT, I am drulling for a conroe and I can afford a 6600

will keep my 6800gt till DX10 is out, and my xms4400 will serve me fine up to 275 1:1

so if u can put scores on what i asked i would be very greatfull.
PCmark especialy

tnx mate.

current setup:

Just got this board with a 6300. Using old 333mhz memory and ati 9700 pro card. I'm really impressed with the quality and overall value for money. Booted up first time, no hasstles. Upgraded to the latest 1.70 bios fine too.

For the £36 you even get a free copy of Mcafee virus scan.

Reinstalled windows but I had a few issues with windows booting that I tracked down to a few unrecongnised usb devices plugged into my monitor which would stop XP from loading, but all is ok now. The speed of the system is emence considering I'm using old memory and graphics card. The system takes around 5 bars to get into windows, but as soon as it flicks into windows the deskop is there and loaded and usable, even with a load of apps installed.

for anyone only wanting a cheap upgade or a cheap pc this board is well recommended. Asrock, ROCK!

The only downside is the computer isn't mine, i'm doing the upgrade for my dad. I think i'll be upgrading shortly at this price. It's a shame overclockers don't stock it at the moment.
