Asrock Steel Legend Build

Not to be that guy....but neither have you yet?

It's a ridiculous statement on his behalf tbh, I've owned GPU's from almost every vendor under the sun since the 90's and I am thoroughly brand agnostic.

Nvidia
ATI (AMD)
Matrox
3DFX

I even had a Kyro 2 based card back in the day, as well as a bunch more.

I make statements based upon available evidence and benchmarking from trusted outlets, I don't need to "own" a thing to know its relative performance and offer advice based upon that, I've even got recent post history where I've recommended the B580 and only stopped when certain issues became apparent.

The 580 is a so-so card until the driver issues are resolved, for some they wont matter at all. For those on older CPU's there is a potential for things being a sidegrade or even downgrade when looking at coming from other mid range offerings. As I've stated, I hope the OP gets on with the card and things go well for him, fingers crossed the CPU overheard concerns are either overblown or will be soon resolved with newer drivers.

Are you seeking validation or something?

This isn’t about you cherub… and unlike yourself - I now have a physical card to test on…

So the fact you were making comments suggesting it was a sidegrade or a downgrade are just nonsense as I’ve now tested it in my rig and in my use cases myself…

I was left in the fortunate position that once I received it - I would test it and would sell whichever card performed the worst…. So needless to say that the 3060 will soon be finding its way to eBay…

shouldn’t be entirely surprising as all along I’ve said that i play at 1440p and have a 12600k - but then you seemed to think you knew better and started suggesting it was a ‘sidegrade’ ‍♂️ because you read some reviews even although those reviews at 1440p show the B580 in the main outperforming 3060/3060ti/4070

I’m not sure this will be the same for everyone as it will clearly depend on your setup - but I play at 1440p with an Intel 12600k with 32Gb 3600 RAM and the B580 outperforms the 3060 - which is no real surprise I suppose as this is what almost every single reviewer out there confirmed…

Yet you get people posting trying to suggest it is a sidegrade or downgrade ‍♂️ and this might be the case in some very niche/specific scenarios; using unsupported cpus, not enabling re-bar, playing 1080p etc - none of which apply to myself and my use cases

How about we move on.

Tell us about the 580, are you happy with the upgrade? How are you favourite games performing?
Very happy with it… think I’ve said before that for my use case 1440p running with a 12600k and 32Gb 3600 RAM then it performs very well…

I had 3 options when the B580 arrived.. I wanted to assess it first hand rather than just go off reviews…

The options I had were:

Keep 3060 and sell B580
Keep B580 and sell 3060
Sell both 3060 and B580 and get something else

I’ve decided to go with option 2 - I’m keeping the B580 and selling the 3060
