How many people wouldn't be surprised if he gets churned over to the US when he gets to Sweden?
Well, if I recall correctly one of the charges the women says she consented, but she thought he was going to use contraception (not really rape). So you think that he is innocent because he is famous?
Bottom line is that Sweden has a robust and fair justice system and if he has been accused of a crime then he should stand trial like anyone else.
If he is innocent or guilty is for thr Swedish court to decide on the evidence put to them.
The cynic in me thinks the women are just making it up for attention/money/whatever.
I don't even think it's a conspiracy, I just think they're hoes.
;D
How would this work, Assange is currently in Ecuador's London embassy where it seems the police can't arrest him. I think at the moment our police are trying to arrest him for breach of bail, not 100% about that, but come the 28th? they certainly will be. But regardless, if Ecuador do offer him asylum, he wouldn't make it anyway as i assume as soon as he steps outside he will be arrested and extradited to Sweden?
Wow Assange you're really in some political situation aren't you.
Thats my understanding. The embassy (sp) is sovereign ground, so our law enforcement cannnot enter - but surely when he steps foot outside / drives out we can stop and detain?
He'll appeal and then be kicked out.
Have they? Do you have a (credible) source for this? Not that I am questioning it, just that I hadn't heard that. The women have since dropped the allegations. ...
I think that it was a little more than "without consent", I believe that he said that he would use a condom and didn't or that it "fell off". One or both of the women involved went to the Police to try to force Assange to have an AIDS test. Frankly, I find it hard to believe that in this day and age, in a developed country like Sweden, any intelligent woman would agree to have unprotected sex with a virtual stranger.... He was never actually accused of raping anyone, he was basically accused of having consensual sex while not using a condom, without consent. ...

As I recall, this whole thing blew up because Assange was screwing two women whilst claiming that he wasn't - i.e. cheating and lying. For someone who is so preoccupied with openness and honesty, he sounds like an arrogant hypocrite. As to the women, they sound as if they had bought into celebrity culture.
