Assassinate wherever possible, rather than melee.
Also, enemies that are strong and tanky.. if you drop down off a roof and assassinate, even though you're not strong enough, It will knock a huge chunk off their health bar, so you stand a much better chance when you have to start going at them with your katana.![]()
Yasuke would have been a better fit if he was designed as a smaller more agile character.Meh - there is an okayish game in here trying to get out but the usual Ubisoft decisions have hurt it.
The Yasuke character - totally not needed - shoehorned in to tick the box presumably. Just doesnt fit the gameplay at all. Almost like they had done the game and then had a group meeting where someone said "wouldnt it be great if we had a black Samurai in this"
The story starts well but just like Mirage they then pretty much chuck the momentum in the bin for some unknown reason- in favour of lazy cut and paste "investigate this guy and kill him" repeat quests.
The "open world" also isnt really as there are a lot of impassible hills and pretty much nothing away from the roads that they obviously want you to follow.
GOT and even Rise of the Ronin have both done this sort of thing a lot better.
Pretty much. You play a big chunk at the start as just Naoe after the initial Yaskue bit, then you eventually get the option to switch between them whenever you want. Some missions/points of interest can only be done as one or the other. So you'll walk up to someone and have to switch to the other character to talk to them etc.I am correct in assuming you can change freely between that characters?
Initially I thought he was just a power fantasy, obliterating everything in his wake, but it now seems he's more like Jin from Ghost of Tsushima. Yasuke can take on multiple big brutes and put them down in a few slashes and dodges, but they also put him down in a few slashes. Blood and bits of armor flying all over the placeI quite like that Yasuke offers a different playstyle.
Yeah, I'm really enjoying Yasuke, more than I thought I would! I definitely tend to find myself playing more as Naoe because I prefer the sneaky sneaky approach in AC games but whenever I swap to play as Yasuke it's really satisfying having the other playstyle available and it's nice to have that change of pace.Initially I thought he was just a power fantasy, obliterating everything in his wake, but it now seems he's more like Jin from Ghost of Tsushima. Naoe is a light-footed ninja who's not meant to go toe to toe with armored samurai, but he is in his element in such fights.
(Also, character wise, I think Yasuke is a great fit. Most characters are as generic as in Ghost of Tsushima (not because they are Japanese- Like a Dragon: Ishin has AWESOME Japanese samurai characters), but he is actually interesting and thought provoking - woke/anti-woke stuff be damned.)
You owe it to yourself to try the Japanese voice acting. I don't understand Japanese (a few words only), but it's way more immersive and -emotion wise at least - better actedI'm really enjoying it though. I selected the English voice acting as I thought maybe 100+ hours with subtitles would get boring but I can't say I'm in love with Naoe's voice actor so far.

Surprised how much I’ve been able to push the 7900XTX with full ray tracing and no noticeable lag or loss with fsr.
The way it is nowadays. Indy game full of cutscenes and mediocre gameplay gets a bunch of GOTY shouts, Shadows releases and the same people knock it down because of cutscenes and boring repetitive gameplay. I'd argue, for pure gameplay, Shadows is far stronger than Indy. 7/10 game is the worst ever and a 8/10 is best everI havent played but its mad how some big youtubers and streamers **** on some games while sheep followers without playing themselves cannot form their own opinion also **** on the game.
Despite all of that there are missions playing the game and enjoying it.
Ive seen a lot say if it wasnt a Ubi game or they called it something other than AC even more would be buying and playing.
Personally im all for gameplay over story, im hoping just randomly roaming about taking out bases and enjoying solid combat is far more of a GAME than a story driven game.
I hope shadows delivers to me if and when i get round to buying it.
