New AC is inevitable, it seems it will be set in 19c Paris, there will be a PS4/XB1 game and a 360/PS3 game, how disparate these are will be intriguing...

Pretty sure that rumour was only based on the character in the end cinematic of Revelations. Honestly I never expected them to do it as European History is far more iconic for the vast majority of their player base, it also tends to have more involvement from different nations.
 
I liked everything that came after 2. The trouble with AC for me as a series is it just doesnt know what it's supposed to be. The assassinations and stealth in 1 and 2 were excellent the rest of the game was repetitive drivel.

The following games lost the stealth feel and the combat got pregressively worse. I did enjoy levelling up assassins though and calling in a team for the lol's but you can walk in though the front gate stab your foe and then beat the world with a one button counter.

3 was so bad it's put me off playing 4 for a while. I didn't like the sailing parts and that was supposedly the only saving grace in 3.

The desmond parts, no one cared it becomes an irritation when ever you are not in the animus. The story is so meh even in the first 3 or 4 games I couldn't tell you what it's even about.

I'd like them at least to improve the combat and go back to more stealthy game play.
 
I enjoyed 3 but with 4 there seemed to be an over reliance on the ship portion of the game, I know it was pirate themed but if they want to release a game where you sail the seas hijacking other ships then why not just make a separate game?
 
just finished 4. really enjoyed most of it. the 'reality scenes' or modern day stuff is absolutely awful and pointless though, those frogger hacking games really annoyed me. best bit for me was sailing about, attacking other ships and upgrading my ship so I could take on bigger ships. graphics are lush as well.
 
only got around to finishing ACIV yesterday and although many loved it, the naval gameplay really bored me, so would be glad to get back to scaling some sizeable buildings as in the first few AC games.

anyway, looks a nice change of pace from the last two AC's
 
Finally. Been saying for years that AC should do a French Revolution game. The possibilities are endless with all of the amazing characters around at that time!

Unfortunately, after the utterly awful AC4, I no longer believe that they are capable of making a good game:(

Trailer, doesn't really show much but hmm. Defo need to see more, I liked AC4's gameplay but it defo left me feeling a bit annoyed with Ubi in terms of story :\

edit: ok I admit... I didn't read the part where it said it was Alpha game footage... I'll believe it when I play it Ubi, but that's pretty impressive if so.

looks great, doubt the final game will have that level of detail though.

great to see that this version will be on PC, worried for a sec it would be a 360/PS3 port

I've really enjoyed all the AC games however I haven't played 3, its sitting installed on the PS3 upstairs thanks for PS+, almost finished AC4 have been taking my time with it and its been great, so fingers crossed the next one is excellent too.
 
I'm going to give Ubisoft the benefit of the doubt when it comes to new gen ONLY games. IMO any cross gen ports are going to be quite poor for new gen.
So hopefully this game will be decent on PS4/X1.
