Assassin's Creed Valhalla

As somebody who enjoyed Origins and Odyssey would you guys and gals recommend Valhalla to me? I've been seeing really mixed reviews with people saying the game is boring and far too long. Surely a long Assassins Creed isn't a bad thing as opposed to it being too short. Id rather hear from actual players though and not the mainstream reviewers.

Its close to odyssey and origins. Visuals/atmosphere are better, gameplay improved in some areas, but the story does get a little repetitive later on, I’m still waiting for it to ‘get going’. The new skill tree is incredibly tedious too.

Hmm. I'm so fussy on Assassins Creed games but usually when I pick them up I end up enjoying them. Ill keep digging into it for now and I also heard similar comments about the skill tree too. I liked Odyssey and Origins because of how amazingly atmospheric it made Ancient Egypt and Greece. It just felt so amazing to explore and I was hoping for the same with a Viking setting. Thanks for the reply! ;)

This is my fave AC for years. Love it and not bored 20hours in. Gave up on the last two quite quickly sadly. It feels much more natural exploring/finding stuff/coming across 'world events' etc. Map is huge though so i still do worry it might prove too much for me!

The world events are a huge positive change. Makes side quests much less of a distraction from the main story.

I'm enjoying the historical accuracy of the game, did you realise there were Cobra's in England once upon a time :p crossing over to the Isle of White is quite interesting.........

I havent reached Hampshire yet, will be interesting to see how the area I am familiar with is portrayed, I look forward to seeing the Isle of Wight crossing :)

There is quite a lot of the game that seems rushed or just lazy tbh the more you look at it. Yeah, Cobras going around the place just because they already had them from Odyssey and Origins. Most of the animals are the same. That moveable crate they use is the exact same model as the last 2 games!

I love the game just as I loved the last 2, but a shake-up is needed before it gets too stale

i agree, but also theres only so many animals you can add without it becoming unbelievable for the setting
plus i think your always going to get the usual wolf/bear/deer animals

i just wish they didnt make certain animal parts so rare.. ive killed so many deer with antlers and not got a single antler from them

if you mean for the skill tree, the top is Bear, left is Raven and Right is Wolf
No I get the skill tree colour being bear, raven and wolf but does all armour fall into one of the three categories?

I currently have hunter armour and have no idea which, if any, it relates to. Logos were mentioned so I will study my armour closely for clues.

ah i see, so when you hover over an armour piece it has the symbol at the top to show if its raven etc

the normal deer bucks don't drop them, only "reindeer" drop the antlers. Plenty to be found in Norway :)

Single handed axe "seems" to procure more resources than bigger weapons but that's just from my anecdotal notings, no hard proof as such.

oh wow.. ive slaughtered half the UKs population of deer for nothing?! :D
thanks for that, will have to head back into norway then
