That was fun.

The Abarth 500 was a good place to start to learn the track, but a lot of work with H pattern shifter and heel/toe braking. Not brave enough for the RUF yet.

Definitely using manual clutch in the Abarth but it shows as automatic, but .MIRV!.Va|ver is showing manual clutch in the RUF.

I always fear 3rd into 2nd with that car. The weight transfer is deadly.

Just got around to this week's challenge, noticed the RSR F3 mod is trying to overwrite files in the dallara f12 folder...is this right? Is it just a skin job on an existing car? not sure this makes sense, am I missing something?

Tried it out yesterday, bit of a mad car to drive, so much power. Was impossible to drive quickly without leaving the traction control off - was losing so much time trying to get anywhere! Think it's easily possible to knock 5+ seconds off my time just by some clean laps and knowing the track.

Great circuit though, not driven it previously. Although I'm finding that it's really picky on running over the lines and not allowing your lap!

New challenge up.

Well done to this week's winners :)

Well, there was a new challenge up, but it seems to have been fried in the forum change...

FFS..

ED2

Sorted.

Uncle Petey, if we're doing mod cars, how about a fun (ridiculous cars) week with the Ford Transit and Reliant Robins or similarly stupid stuff. Maybe stick to a short track though.

All checked and work AFAIK (I've done a few laps in each), I've actually had a really fun evening :)

Reliant Robin doesn't work it hasn't been kept updated sadly, and I can't get the Tesla one to work either, shame as I wanted to try that.

Morgan 3 wheeler (this tips up when you overdo it, but is quite nippy)

Ford Transit Sport : Depositfiles site link on FB Page = popup city but regular download worked for me and I virus checked to make sure before installing.

Lada 2101 + Wagon Turbo (just lolololol)

Honda S800 Convertible (slow but tailhappy)

This is a nice fictional car so it's not all stupid stuff = Veloce GTS (drives like a cobra)

...and 4 tracks

GT addicts Tsukuba :) (found this a bit fiddly and not v interesting tbh)

Live for Speed crowd = Blackwood (multiple layouts)?

Something old skool and tricky (Old Singapore GP)

More local but awesome and quick Thruxton

I'm totally up for that, providing there are also nice cars to drive too :p
Had a quick browse around at other interesting cars to drive maybe. Spotted a site with the Morgan 3 wheeler :D Not had a chance to try it but if it's not buggy I imagine that would be a good crack to drive!

Edit- Born2BSlow just snuck in before me with mention of the Morgan!

Cheers for taking the time to test those out :)

Tsukuba is a good track, but it needs the right cars. Stuff like the MX5 cup works well there.
Blackwood is good fun with a car that handles properly. I've had a good few league races there, but prefer this version of the main layout, though it's not essential.
Personally, I find Thruxton to be a complete yawnfest apart from the chicane.
That Singapore road track is ok for a quick blast.

FWIW I've been trying to dilute the good mod tracks with official content, so as not to blow the wad all at once :D

Ok, I've had a go with those cars and all I can say is that my idea of fun clearly differs from yours :) **** handling and no brakes really doesn't spell fun to me, but if that's what you want...
Do you really want me to put up a server with those things?

Anyway, we all have different tastes, so it is what it is :)

How about something like a point to point TT on something like Transfagarasan? That's pretty nuts and I'll be happy to put in a terrible car or two for you loonies :p

Yeh a point to point in something windy would be good fun for a change of pace. Might take out some of the tyre management of it as you'll just have to start off on cold tyres from one end!

What's your thoughts on the Mclaren F1 Petey? Not enough brakes for you or enjoyable?

The only cars I really enjoyed driving were the Morgan and the Veloce tbh, the rest were just a bit of hooning. It was just nice to drive without stressing about pushing for a good laptime or finding tenths for a change. I do chill out with ETS2/ATS sometimes. Crap cars are a challenge as I t's tricky to nail a good time with **** handling and brakes. I wouldn't want a server with all of those chucked in it would be bloody annoying, they were just a selection as ideas for something a bit less focussed.

I did warm to the Transit Sport, but it's brakes are woeful. Tsukuba is too short but was a nice throwback to GT days. The Blackwood track felt very similar to the official LFS one, so I think I'd just fire up LFS tbh...I play hide and seek with my son on the Westhill open config with maps turned off for a laugh occasionally.

Anyway, I had fun testing not really fussed if you decide not to use them, but the Morgan 3 wheeler was a blast and the Veloce was a drift monster.

I hear you mate, and I do appreciate the input. As you know, I do already try and put in at least one relatively 'crap' car for those that enjoy that kind of challenge :)
As for ETS2, I also like to just chill with the internet radio on there every now and then for a change.

McLaren F1 is cool with me, Mr Floyd. Brakes are a bit poo, but I don't mind too much.
With a point to point like Transfagarasan or Pikes Peak, the challenge is in just completing the course without falling off a mountain and being sent back to the start and it's something you can just treat as going for a good drive without worrying too much about times if you don't want to.

Saying that, this is meant to be a TT challenge. If we just want to go for a drive, we can do that at any time privately :)
