Assetto Corsa OcUK TT Challenge! *Season 3*

Happy to see Bathurst come around, was lapping it some over the weekend. Going up and more so going down, is grand scale 10 in vr. Nice to see the Oreca get another run.

I still expect to be flat last, but my times in general have improved a few seconds since I started using the wheel hub. The dilemma I have is to buy the thrustmaster shifter or not. The reason I fell out with the G25 shifter, was because it was so tight on the h pattern, but so loose it would jump all over the place.

Vary rarely use the G25 shifter for those reasons, also the terrible feel when shifting (also I have lost reverse). I am looking at the TH8A.

I'll be having a go again soon, my desk is ruined and it's a challenge to set up my wheel to switch between normal and sim use. Building a new desk soon which should help as I'm tight on space. Ideally I'd have a dedicated setup with VR, but budget does not allow, haha. In the meantime, trying to figure out a way of having a setup I can fold away whist still be able to use at my desk.

Losing so much time in the 2nd sec. Just been watching a few hotlaps, the summit seems to be far more of a straight than the one I'm running on. Most odd.

Any chance of a video, id love to know where I'm going wrong to be 10 secs of the pace in the oreca.

Jealous, I need a proper stand at some point.

What's everyone elses setup currently?

Mine is:
Fanatec GT3 RS v2 wheel
Logitech G25 Shifter/Pedals with Leo Bodnar cables and Nixim brake mod.
HTC Vive

You've seen the review of the GT Ultimate?

I'm building my own.

Brian B saw this and posted up a vid for you :)

Tbh, it's not an easy car to push hard around here.

Cheers.

I'll be back on tomorrow. I can see where I can make time, it's just losing the rear and locking it is all too easy.

Not sure on the cost as it'll be the cosmetic stuff that will be required. I'm building mine out of lots of wood I've had in the garage for a while. Some MDF, some thin flooring boards. Painted semi black, most of the time has taken from measuring and allowing some parts on the frame to be adjustable. Then the cosmetics. Carbon gloss and matt black wrap and faux leather/alcantara.

Trying to make it all closed around the legs and body. Obviously on the right you'll be able to get in and out. The most expensive part was the seat. B6 bucket seat I think it is. Was £220 got it for £170. Lovely having a proper car seat as it is so nice and deep. Runners/seat handle and the seat clamps came with it. Have the base inclined for the seat to sit GT3 style. Back sitting angled for the neck and head straight with the thighs quite steep.

I had looked at so many rigs and most no matter how expensive they are nearly all of them flexed with the pedals. So had to do my own. The pedal supports are rock solid with heel and left foot rest. Black mesh for the pedal heel plate.
Floor/seat base all in black felt.

The gearstick area above will have a holder for a tablet for the Assetto dash apps and another behind the wheel for the phone rpm apps. Be able to slide them in and out. Keyboard/game pad holder on the left behind the gearstick. Might put another below the wheel so it blends in so it can slide in and out. Need to double check all the clearance issues as it'll only be a tiny piece of wood to slide in and out.

Hoping... to have it finished sometime end of next week.

Finished mine on Friday. Slight modification for a keyboard, a shifter stand will slot in the other side of the frame the same way, should I go with it.

The only thing I'm struggling with is the settings on the TS racer. Seems to be a complete blank everywhere.

Logitech G29 and shifter mounted to a GameRacer Pro chair and frame. Had to bodge a gear shift mount from a bit of plywood :) PC on the right, but when Im driving I run it thru a Sony 50" 1080p TV
