Assetto Corsa

Happens to all of us:) I could work out how to enable MSI Afterburner onscreen info few days back :)

Apart from the SGSS settings (you could try x4 or even x8 with your beefy system) you should also read up how to change negative lod bias (? iirc) to complement SGSS. But yeah, the picture should be much crisper with this.

I tried it and while it does look good, it doesn't massively stand out to my eyes. Good for photo mode though :)

I also noticed that it caused ~40fps drop @x4 with all other in game settings maxed.
@1440p, this meant the difference between AVG 94fps normally and dropping to 53fps with SGSS using the built in benchmark.
Dropping reflection frequency would help with that though.

Sure.

Normal

SGSS

I'm hard pressed to tell the difference between these tbh.

ED:
The reason for that is that it's still running somewhere in the background or applying settings permanently after exiting.
I only noticed because the framerate hadn't change between shots and it's not showing up in task manager.

I guess changing the profile settings is the only way to deactivate it?
ED 2: The answer to that is yes :D

Yeah, NVI does not need to be runnign for its settings to be in effect.

Your screenshots look clean from jaggies, but not that sharp. Also the paint looks flat there is no sun glistening. Maybe its because your car skin and/or ppfilter is custom made? (also what are these horrible mod track trees in the background :p).
Or is because you did not adjust negative lod bias to match SGSS setting? Not sure, either way your pic seems quite a way off my examples above. Not as crisp, the laquer/metallic paint does not reflect properly etc.

Couple more examples :

I've decided to upgrade now myself, so will also test this further soon :)

The track is Bridgehampton (mod) and that's the C7R, which is official.
It may just be the PP filter, which came with the Paul Ricard track. Which one are you using?

I think way off is exaggerating a tad tbh :D

Yeah the RUFs are looking fine :) (hide them under a spoiler though, mods usually complain when they see pics over 1080 pixels wide)

Maybe its the custom paint job on the C7, I think you'd agree that it does look way (ok ok :D) too "flat" in comparison. Its left side is glossy, and right side is matt as well somehow - but the whole thing just looks a bit like hi res rfactor ;) Your RUFs do look better, regardless of ppfilter.

Upgrade- not sure yet. I'm hesitating between 780ti, 970 and 980ti. I need a very beefy gfx card for Matlab, but not sure if 980ti is supported or indeed better than 780ti in it (I know that it is better in games:)). I'll have to ask. For gaming I'd just get 970 as it should be fine for 1080p I think, even with AC's ultra settings and SGSS.

That's odd, the pics aren't showing at their full size on my screen, otherwise I would have put them in spoilers to start with.
I assumed that the forum had been updated to automatically resize them or something...

This is what it looks like on my end:

Yeah, the C7R does look a little flat. Perhaps it's the track or the paintjob affecting it. I dunno.
No idea about Matlab, but you'd be fine with any of those cards :) Obviously, the 980Ti would give you plenty of room to play with fancy settings like DSR and SGSS etc.

Hm, they didn't resize for me, strange. But I had a couple of warnings from ocuk mods myself for posting oversize pics, albeit a while back. Maybe its changed, but then why didn't your pics autoresize for me? no idea :)

Me too :) I hate it when people post massive pics without a spoiler tag.

Oh yeah, it turns out that there's just something about that spot, on that track that made it hard to get decent pics of the C7R.
I tried changing the position of the sun to no avail.

Here's what it's meant to look like.

Now it does not look like rfactor :p Cool car and nice skin. Weird how a modded track can change car shaders, thats another thing that I've learnt today.:)

Albert Park has arrived http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/albert-park-league-version.8147/

Love it!
Being a 'league version', I doubt it has AI if you're into that...

In other news, I got my 599xx rim for the T300 today. Very nice.
Having pretty big hands, the extra space between rim and paddles is very welcome and the extra 2cm diameter makes it feel a lot more realistic vs the PS4 rim.

Was expecting it to be a little thicker, but it should be good with gloves.

Sorry, i just figured that there were plenty of user pics around the web already :)

Here's a pretty spot on review with all the imagery and info you could need.
Have to say that I was expecting it to be more padded, going by what they said though.

I'll post a pic of it next to the stock PS4 rim if you like?
