I'll set this up as a hypothetical question, before people get too worried about whether this is a "look-at-me, look-at-me" thread.

A new hard-top goes for what? £150,000? So let's say you had that much to play, and you've set aside around that much you've already to decided to spend on a car.

Would you rather get a second hand DBS with say 6,000-7,000 miles on, or a brand new DB9? Or not an Aston at all? Maybe something a little cheaper like an R8?

If you have 150k to spend on a car then you probably don't care what we think of your purchasing decisions

Have I missed something?

e : post #2 is correct.

Second hand DBS personally. Reasons:

- Sportier
- In a James Bond movie
- Prefer the looks
- More class than a Porsche in my eyes

I think it's just for fun.

Edit: and in any case, the more money I was spending, the more research I'd do before buying, so even if it was a genuine question it'd be fair enough in my book. Asking what people would buy to get some varied advice based on both fact and opinion, is not the same as caring what they think in terms of how you meant it, i.e. not sleeping at night because the OcUK collective potentially disagreed with a purchasing decision.

Get a used one, let someone else have the first whack of depreciation.

Hey, I agree with you. I guess my post was badly worded due to being thrown due to wording of the OP : "I'll set this up as a hypothetical question". I wasn't sure if that was because he had to word it that way (no 150k) or because he chose to (may have 150k).

Anyway, sorry for the derail. I'm still not sure if this is a 'Your dream car!' or a 'I'm going to spend 150k, help me!' thread.

Used DBS every time.

It'll be more or less identical to a new car in every way except the price. The only downside is that you're limited to whatever spec/colour is on the used market.

If you're not fussy about spec/colour, post the pics when you've got it :).

If it is an "im going to spend 150K on a car/s help me" it's in the wrong forum as bar maybe Spie I am not aware of anyone who has ever spent this on a car...or close to it. For perspective it's close to £90K more than I've ever spent on a car and many think I am able to splurge big on motors.

MrLOL - did you mean to post the same link twice?

If it is an "im going to spend 150K on a car/s help me" it's in the wrong forum as bar maybe Spie I am not aware of anyone who has ever spent this on a car

You don't have to have spent £150k on a car to have an opinion on one .

Buying advice? What's that, how to pay for it? So anyone that's test driven a DBS or a GT3 should not have an opinion on one, unless they then bought it?

Actually having read it this time I am being harsh Robbie, I scan read (as normal) and saw numbers so assumed it was somewhat around which was going to protect you, be cheapest to run/own. Everyone is of course entitled to an opinion of course.

This thread wouldn't be as bad as it is if it had a few pics of some Aston Martins. Because of this I declare this thread full of Fail !!!
