Sorry if I missed it,
what res do you use?

cheers

1920x1080

If the new GPU Tweak turns out to be a massive improvement, i'd be tempted to get another one at Christmas along with the 120Hz monitor (BenQ XL2420T) i'm getting. Main reason being, this Christmas is my last chance to upgrade for a while as i'm buying a house next year...

Picking one up today to try,I'll see how it performs and
probably add a second if all goes well.

First time with AMD so hope I have no regrets

Just a bit concerned with a few issues ppl are seeming to have,
then again you only hear when there's issues.

So i might be bugging you later for help

Thanks.

Got card installed no probs,Gpu tweak sucks.
What are you using to OC?

Need to sort out surround/eyefinity.

Also learn about CCC first time Red

I'm using GPU Tweak 2.2.8.1, it's the only thing you can use. TRIXX kind of works but you're limited to default voltage. Afterburner doesn't allow voltage change.
You're stuck with GPU Tweak. 2.2.9.5 should be released soon for this card's issues. You can see over on the ROG forums http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthrea...X-HD-7970-owners&p=178794&posted=1#post178794

My advice. Uninstall the drivers, reboot and re install without CCC. IMO it's not required if you have just the one card, everything controlled my the application is best. CCC is good for crossfire when you can have profiles setup to make things work better for you but generally i don't see the point in it, you don't want overdrive either if you can't use it effectively or have something else to overclock.

Yep, GPU Tweak sucks. Please let me know how the fan profiles are working for you.
As i've said, the fan profiles for me are screwed.
-- User Defined is only linked to VDDC temperature not GPU Core.
-- Auto works as auto does, but useless when overclocking.
-- Manual works but you have Fan1 and Fan2 working independently..

As for eyefinity, i trust you have an/some Active DP adapter/s?

Sorry
Eyefinity profile doesn't save.

Fan wise I've set to 45% on both for now.
You got any settings for me to try so I don't
blow my first ever Red card .
appreciate your help

Here's what i use as 24/7 super stable profile. Annoying that i have to change the fan speed manually.

Core voltage: 1300mv-1310mv
Core Speed: 1250MHz
Memory: 7200MHz
Power Limit: 120%
Loadline: 100%

Both fans when gaming: 70-75%
Both fans when benching: 80-100%

When pushing the voltage near 1350mv have the fans on 80-100%. This is benchmarking territory. Should be able to do 1300MHz core and further with 1350mv.

I already had the adapter from when I only had 1 680.

I posted in your thread asking which way you connected for Eyefinity,
as I'm having probs setting it up.

Sorry missed it.

My card had different outputs - I had one DL DVI to DL DVI and the other two DP to mDP.

Was fine apart from the stupidly high idle speeds/temps.

Think I'll get another DP-DP, no probs idle temps .

Can set up eyefinity and game but as soon as I exit game one screen
changes res to 800x600:confused:

Have to say runs very cool and quiet :)

Will take a bit of getting used to but so far impressed:cool:

could even be tempted to crossfire if I can sort out Eyefinity
