Asus P5W DH chipset temps?

My chipset temp is 58 deg C is this alright?

Seems very high! Is that idle temperture? Mine is currently at 39C

Yes that's idle. Although I am using the intel stock cooler.

A lot of people are removing the flat covers, and fitting fans.

You could try reseating the NB and SB with AS5. I've seen pics in another thread where there's almost no contact between the chip and heatsink. I'd say that's wrong with yours too.

mine is 30 with a fan duct taped to it.

used to be 50 ish.

wow didn;t think the fans would make much difference...

how would you fit them - not with screws somewhere? Is it ok to 'duct' tape them to them?? how?
