Asus P8P67 Update!!!

Disable all your OCing, sounds like a unstable OC.

I have had this very overclock stable with 7 hours of Prime. I've even tried knocking the multi down

Currently;
Multi: 45
Volt: 1.37
PLL Overvolt: On
Mem: 1.5 (Was 1.55)
PLL: 1.75.

It actually seems better - no on desktop crashes, but haven't tried the reboot issue since the last adjustment. I've also installed Intel Management Engine, the updated chipset inf and the new AI Suite, now too.

I spoke too soon. The boards now refusing to post. I have cleared the cmos and taken the battery out. Used another set of ram. The fans just spin up. Rma time.

Hi all
Updated to latest bios and when using overclocking feature
I'm still getting cold boot problems then overclocking failed
Why is asus auto tuning so rubbish and not stable

I'm running 1253 and oc of 4.5 at 1.28 vcore and temps of only 32-38c, play battlefield all night last night and watch the temps, they actually went down to 32c! but then it is freezing cold here:)
Board runs like a dream though..no issues at all.

So they released 1253 via a filesharing site, never put it on the main Asus site, never brought 1053 out of beta like they said they would, and now release 1204, which appears in the bios log but not the actual file list on their site?

What the hell?

(yes, I expect 1204 will be on the main site by the end of monday, but this completely unorthodox approach to releasing and then apparently rescinding updates is troubling)

the bios 1204 is now on Asus website!:)

You will almost certainly have to flash the bios yourself (and probably actually should do even if it doesn't come with the original runs 402/804 bioses, just to fix any lingering issues).

However, this is a trivial activity. Download the .rar from the Asus downloads page, extract the contained .rom to a USB stick. Reboot, follow instructions in manual (not hard, it just tells you to go to the flash utility in the UEFI advanced bios screen), then perform a CMOS clear (if not in the printed manual, then the updated one on the asus downloads page - you power down, remove the power cord, and move a jumper for a half minute, then plug back in and power up).

If you get stuck, post on here and we'll help you.

agh so many boards. please can i confirm with someone...

the board in the bundle here
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=BU-014-OP

is the "standard" one

so would need this bios
P8P67 Standard UEFI 1204 -
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/LG...-ASUS-1204.zip

and this AI Suite II Update

P8P67 Basic / PRO / EVO / Deluxe Users -
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/misc/...ite_II_P8P.zip

sorry if this is an obvious question but it would be a disaster to screw up a bios flash!.

cheers

Yes, that looks correct (I don't use the AI Suite myself because running additional software is abhorrent to me).

I'm not sure about the standard board, but most of the P8p67 series have a dual bios so you can recover in the event of update failure. The process is really simple though! Just load the contents of that zip onto a thumbdrive and follow the instructions in the BIOS.

You may want to download the updated manual from the Asus site for instructions on how to clear CMOS (bios settings) after flashing the bios, too. That seems to clear up some lingering issues people have had.
