This really strikes me as a 'jack of all trades' type of thing and doesn't seem great.
Really? Seems pretty damn good to me If the phones actually any good will be the clincher I reckon.
prices been released in taiwan, $850 including accessories.
Guess that will *estimate* around £550 for phone, £200 for tablet dock and £100 for keyboard.
Did he say the kb dock is different to the TF101 kb dock as the tablet is slightly different?
In which case, mine wouldn't work with the Padphone.....
heard they are supposed to be compatible
conversion here says £385 (for phone) but doesn't include uk rip-off taxes
Ouch. $980 (dollars) for phone + tablet + keyboard.
that's around 550 for all accessories. iphone 4s is 675. this is £300 cheaper.
It's not a straight conversion though, there is tax/duty to be taken into account. I would be VERY (but pleasantly) surprised if it was only £550 for everything.
netbooknews.com have the padfone now and it looks awesome
here are their videos:
Padfone vs transformer vs prime
Padfone playing frontline commando
more videos here http://www.youtube.com/user/minipcpro/videos?query=padfone
but looking awesome thus far!
Very nice review, might get this phone when I can upgrade next year. Can see this being very handy to use when in university. Only slight problem though is probably the battery size in the phone itself... any idea how long battery life is?
you get the following for phone mode, tablet mode and laptop mode, respectively: 2.6 hours, 10.7 hours and 17 hours of continuous WiFi browsing; and 2.1 hours, 8.9 hours and 14.1 hours of continuous 3G browsing. Just as promised before, the PadFone Station (the tablet) and the PadFone Station Dock (the keyboard) do seem to pump up the battery by about five-fold and nine-fold max, respectively.
check that netbook mode
when is this released in the uk?
Thanks for that, pretty similiar to what I'm seeing from my Xperia PLAY then, although I was hoping it would be a tad longer. Maybe there will be 3rd party batteries that lasts longer?
Cant see it happening as if there were any 3rd party one it would require a larger back plate/ stick out more and will probably not fit in the dock . Its the only slightly disappointing part of the product imo. If it had a 2000mah battery i would be even more tempted then i am now
Padfone 2 possibly later in the year? Not sure if real or fake
yeah rumours so far.
it'll just have the s4 pro chip which supports lte. That'll be the only difference.
What's the pricing likely to be so far? (Pad + tablet + keyboard)
phone + station is supposed to be 550 without tax, keyboard dock is seperate and around 100 (pricing not revealed yet but 700 euros for the lot on release)
Those are some beefed up specs if true, now I'm looking foward to this!
EDIT: Actually... just noticed where it says Super IPS+ HD... the icon says SuperAMOLED... fake .
I really like the idea behind the Padfone. I even like the stylus idea.
Will have to see what the Padfone2 brings to the table. It may be a replacement for my SGSII
